I enrolled my 11 year old son in the Taekwondo classes about 2 months ago. Master Morales is a great instructor and motivator. When he sees the kids getting lazy in their form and techinque he sure does a hell of a job letting you know he is not pleased! Mr. Marquez(which was a former student of Master Morales and received his black belt from here) usually gets the class started with warm ups, stretching and basic forms/kicks. If Master Morales is there he will take over after stretching and drill them on kicks, punches, proper form, counter attacks, and of course their kia! This is a full contact teaching school. The students must provide their own sparring gear to participate in the sparring practice. Don’t worry, the students are not encouraged to kick and punch each other to the ground. They are however, encouraged to not be afraid of hurting their opponent becuase they do have full gear on! Also, the center is active in community involvement. They have yearly events in which the entire school goes out and sweeps the streets and volunteer. During the summer they rent the Lynwood Natatorium for half a day for the entire class and their families to enjoy some swimming fun. Price wise, this place is decent. They have different package deals and monthly payment plans, whatever fits your budget best. I am very pleased with the progress my son has made in this class and the relationships he is building with his peers. Instructors are great and very involved with the kids school work and behavior. I would definitely recommend this place to friends. One and only con… There is no parking! No parking lot in the back, small section in front of the location that fits only about 4 or 5 cars. So if you’re not early to class expect to drive around in circles looking for parking. Oh and parents, please do not be the reason your kid(s) are late to class! If your kid is late he pays the price not you!
