This place is a hidden gem! So many root beers to choose from! I love love the hot dog lunch deal! The staff is so great! Defiantly worth the stop!

The owner loves his job which makes it a happy environment! The store is so cool! You can get ANY flavor soda. Family friendly & there’s always samples out!

Great variety. They sell a Butterscotch Cream Soda that I think tastes like the Butterbeer from «The Wizarding World of Harry Potter». Tons of sugar but I’m addicted. The root beer floats are good and I believe they change up the root beer on tap that they use. Cute little shop.

Found quite the gem in Edmonds along Aurora. Wasn’t sure what to expect from a place called The Rootbeer Store but it was a hit ;). I had their lunch special, deluxe polish dog with a bottle of my choice and bag of chips for $ 6. Quirky items inside include Bacon Soda, Apple Beer, Chocolate Soda, Root Beer BBQ sauce, and wall to wall largest selection of root beers, an impressive ginger beer case, and about 8 flavors of ice cream. Friendly service and while I sat down I think at least 15 other customers came in different waves to pick up, try out, and quell their thirst and passion for beers from all over. Friendly service and they love giving good reccos and gettin into chats about the beverages. Highly recommend! I’m coming back for their free tastings the first Saturday of each month all day. And they open late usually til 9 or 10pm.

5 for the rootbeer 1 for the hot dog for a average of 3. They need to hunt down the guy that ran the junkyard dog, he is out there somewhere making a legit gourmet hot dog. Search him out.

This is a fun place with a large selection of root beer and other drinks. The space is a little small and it stays pretty busy so it can be hard to grab a seat. I wished that they could somehow separate the root beer based on categories (sweet, natural, strong) otherwise it’s so hard for someone that didn’t know much about root beer to select. I did hear people asking the employee that was working and he seemed pretty knowledgeable.
They have a couple root beers on tap which you can sample and a lot of bottles/​brands.
I like that you can get root beer floats made with your choice. I also saw some other very unique non root beer drinks being made.
Overall it’s a cute and fun place. Just wish is was a little bigger (for more seating) and probably could have used a second staff member.

This is a cool funky little store off HWY 99 tucked away.
Full of rootbeer, lots and lots of creamy rootbeer. They also have a wide variety of soda’s and rootbeer on tap to make floats. Service was great, the worker was very informative going over all the different rootbeers and what’s in them and how they taste. This was a fun little drink shop. We bought two 6 packs and a crazy straw and some saltwater taffy YUM. If you love rootbeer come here now!

Lots of crazy selection of root beer, ginger beer and flavored sodas! We love it here! They also have root beer on tap for floaties. Yum!
We left with two 6-​pack and peaches n cream chewy candies and crazy straws for the kids.
I got the Rocket Fiz root beer that says its for root beer floats. It was just ok. My husband got a Weber brand. It was mind blowing! The Hippo brand is pretty good for floats too.
We will come back again, just realized they have a deal on Groupon!

Pretty cool spot, plenty of root beers to try from around the globe! I suggest the Bundaberg Root Beer from Australia, the right amount of sweet!

This place is a gem, and I’m embarrassed it’s taken me so long to render a review of it. I deliberately limit myself to only sporadic visits because otherwise I’d spend way too much money here sampling the vast array of specialty sodas (primarily root beers, as you can infer from the establishment’s name) that you simply cannot find anywhere else in a brick-​and-​mortar store. Online ordering would be your only other option and, even then, where online can you go that will send you only one bottle of something exotic just so you can taste it and see if you want to return for more?
For such a small storefront, the selection is almost overwhelming and you can easily walk out of this place with cases’ worth of unique, delicious product. My personal recommendation, if you are like me and love the taste and scent of evergreen, is the spruce beer produced by the Empire Bottling Works of Bristol, Rhode Island. I have never seen it on sale anywhere else and the mixologists among you are in for one hell of a treat when it comes to this product.
Treat yourself and come to this wonderful purveyor. I would give them an additional star for service, which is not only friendly but enthusiastic and knowledgeable about their product. Five stars, dead easy.

This place was lots of fun. I just wish there were more employees working the day I was there. There was only one guy, and he was banging it out, but there were just too many customers and the line took forever.
There are so many choices of root beer here, as one would imagine, and quite a few other curious and uncommon beverages like sarsaparilla, cream sodas and others. The place is a bit tight and the arrangement of lighting with respect to the table placement is out of whack so that people kept hitting their heads on the light fixtures.

I’ve been to this store many times and never been disappointed. The amount of choices they have of not only root beer, but other sodas as well can be overwhelming sometimes. However, I have found the employees very knowledgable and they have always helped me make a good decision. The first Saturday of every month they have root beer tasting, so I recommend that if you’re not sure what you like.
It’s great for adults, but I also highly recommend this place if you have kids. It’s definitely one of the most loved destinations for my son and his friends.

I noticed this little hidden gem one day driving down high way 99. I instantly was amazed that there was a root beer store. Unfourntly, that night I was pressed on time and couldn’t stop in. The following day I was craving ice cream or a float. I Unilocaled ice cream and to my surprise this store came up. After reading the reviews I decided I had to go give it a try.
The store was filled with all kinds of root beers. With all kinds of different brewing. As well as many other sodas. Such as jelly belly flavored sodas. Which I purchased two of. On top of two root beers. The gentlemen working the store was extremely helpful and knew his sodas. He pointed us in the correct way passed on our pallet preferences.
I highly recommend having a float from the tap. The root beer they use on tap was amazing. Sweet with a little bit of spice.
Over all this root beer spot is my new summer sweet tooth savor. To cool down on these hot days.

Gotta love this place. My dad and I use to search for great places to find root beer floats and i am dissapointed that i could not ever show him this place. This is a gem due to its unique and phenomenal selection. I had no idea so many brands of root beer existed!
They also have well priced hot dogs and special tasting opportunities once a month. The pricing is very affordable and the staff is knowledgeable about their product.
Oh to be a kid again and wander into this place! Places like these should offer a sense of nostalgia and this place certainly does. It is located on 99 and 200^th street. Parking is tricky but most hole in the wall places often are.
If you have children or are craving a sweet beverage that can transport you back to your childhood, check this spot out!

We were sitting around one night, having had a late lunch, and didn’t really know what to do for dinner. Something light, something fun, something different. We chose two of those (guess which two) and stopped in at the Root Beer Store. If you would have asked me beforehand, how many different kinds of root beers are made in the US, I probably would have stopped counting the ones I know of, maybe 3, and multiplied by, say, 4 and answered 12. Boy, was I off. This place must have over 100 different kinds of root beer. Can that all be that different. Try a few samples from the taps, and see.
Parking is behind the building so don’t try to stop in front. In fact, be very careful getting to the back and around.
The service was great. We sampled a few of the root beers on tap (boy, that sounds funny) and decided on one. A couple scoops of ice cream into two mugs with that root beer and we had our root beer floats. I couldn’t tell you when I had my last root beer float, but it’s a good bet that Mickey Mantle was still playing for the Yankees. It was great. We bought a number of different root beers to take back to the hotel and put them in the refrigerator and had a few each night.
There were also other types of sodas, some creams, oranges and gingers. The shelves were stocked. Others in the place were getting a hot dog special which included a root beer of choice I believe.
Go back: definitely.

I found this place through a mutual Unilocaler review and was shocked I didn’t know about it. Really cool store with TONS of different options of root beers plus other types of bottled sodas that are hard to find.
I went there to get some Dublin Dr Pepper that I saw pictured by another poster and found that they don’t have it all the time but ended buying 3 different types of root beers to choose from.
To be honest I’m not a huge root beer fan, but I do enjoy a good one every now and then. I’m really more interested in cool stores like this were you can find long tail items. The girl working was super nice and super knowledgeable. She was able to walk me through the entire store and make some recommendations. You can see in the photos what I went with on my first visit.
I’m sure I’ll be back and especially when people visit, it’s a great find to take them there and let them browse around.
PLEASE NOTE: Parking is in the rear, which actually makes it easier to get to. I highly recommend a visit just for the fun of it, if nothing else :)

David Castle is the manager at The Root Beer Store and passionate about root beer! Knowledgable, too. I visited this store for the first time today because I haven’t been able to find birch beer anywhere else in Seattle.
The Root Beer Store is a tiny storefront located in the corner of a strip mall (parking around back). Their unassuming location makes for a cozy place to browse over 100 brands of root beer, including several brands of birch beer, sarsaparilla and flavored brew (bacon!). They even have root beer on tap and an ice cream case for creating the ultimate root beer float. David is personable and charismatic and could probably turn the most aloof soda drinker into a root beer fan. We will be back for our next round of birch and a first-​Saturday-​of-​the-​month tasting.

As I drive by, I ask myself, could there be any such thing as a root beer store. The answer is YES!
How many different root beers could there be? Hundreds! The fam and I went in and it was wall to wall bottles. If you don’t like root beer, don’t worry, there’s cream soda, ginger beer, orange soda and more! One of my favorite things is to walk along the walls and check out the cool bottles and different varieties of bevvies.
By far, the star of the shop is the root beer float. When you order, a frosty (and I mean frosty) glass is pulled out of the freezer. A scoop of vanilla ice cream is topped with your choice of root beer on tap. Or, if that doesn’t strike your fancy, you can pick a bottle off the shelf. Now, I don’t drink root beer floats often but really, this is a treat. If you’re going to have one, you should have one of these.
The staff is friendly and willing to chat about their favorite bottles of bubbly and offer recommendations if you’re having trouble picking one out. If parking is full out front, head over to the back for tons of spaces and enter the shop through the back door.

OK, gotta admit when I have driven by I was pretty skeptical. I mean really? An entire root beer store? Can’t be that exciting, right? Um yeah, wrong, dead wrong. These are some serious root beer connoisseurs. Root beer on tap, in a float, in candy, in bottles with all kinds of different flavor profiles. They also have lot of other sodas — sarsaparillas, birch beers, cream sodas, fruit sodas, hard to find colas, you name it. The Scuttlebutt they had on tap was perfectly balanced and came in a nice frosted over cold mug with an old fashioned paper straw. Such a fun place to explore! Great customer service with lots of suggestions. I would love to get a bunch of kinds and do a tasting party. How fun!!! Great store :)
