If you want to go to a place with greasy, americanized Chinese food, horrible and lazy service, look no further. I used to be a decent frequenter here but only because it was close and was disappointed every time. The food tastes like most Chinese food places, they use a sad amount of cabbage as garnish, it’s not too bad. Their dining area is quiet mostly and if you try hard enough, you can hear the din of the worker’s awesome lack of caring. They do not like to hear that they didn’t get your order right and they never want to fix it. I hear their bar is awesome but I have only ever been in the dining area. The flaming appetizer is really cool though. If your expectations are low and you don’t care about customer service, this is the place to go.

TERRY C. We had moved into the area Sept 2008 and we were looking for some real good Chinese food. When we first ordered some take out, we were like«Damn» this is and still some of the best Chinese food yet. Then it gets better with the«STARS» from a little spicy to damn right spicy. We would highly recommend this place on the north end to anyone looking for some«Excellent» Chinese Food IJS!!!

I am surprised that this place doesn’t have a solid 4stars the food is good in fact of all the Chinese restaurants my husband and I have tried over the last 2 months since moving here this one is the best! I love the house fried and sesame chicken! Oh and the crab Rangoon was the bomb! Service was excellent and fast!

After ordering takeout on the phone, I sensed something was amiss, I repeated the order more than once including one combo dinner that included a combo entrée. Repeated again but hung up feeling this was incomplete. After picking up the order, discovered the combo entrée but no combo dinner. Things change, and not always for better. My expereinces have been up/down with this place, takeout or eating onsite, but there’s better out there somewhere.

American style Chinese food. You know the drill. No other Asians around. Good vegetarian dishes. Last time we went, we waited so long for someone to take our orders, we just left.

How is it possible I have never reviewed this place? My family has been coming here regularly for the last ten years. The service is very friendly and competent. Never late dishes. No mistakes on the order. They know what they are doing and there are some servers here that have been here a long time. That says a lot for this business. The food is good — not just American Chinese on offer. I’m not going to say it is remarkable — but it is good. The décor isn’t half bad either — they put effort in to the art and background music. It’s clean. The drinks are also potent I have heard. Lots of bar activity in the back — separate from the restaurant, and a different crowd it seems.

The food is ok but they have the slowest and worst service ever! If you call for carry out, they will say 20 minutes. It is more like one hour and twenty minutes typically as their restaurant is overrun with people. Do yourself a favor and fine another place for Chinese. This one is not worth the wait!

This food is amazing. They are my go to. Been looking for a place like this for awhile. Recommended dishes: General’s Chicken, Mongolian Beef and Sesame Chicken.

Ordered the kung pow chicken took first bite something seemed a little off wasn’t sure if it was the sauce or the chicken so took a second bite immediately I knew it was bad chicken tasted like the very old and should have been tossed days ago. didn’t order anything else myself cause I was feeling nauseous but I said while my girl and the kids ate in that time frame I saw 4 more orders of chicken dishes be returned all different things so it wasn’t just the kung pow chicken. if 5 people return chicken within a hour there’s something wrong will not come back. And that was just the food the service was poor too liked like a kid that was probably no older then 16 that had no services experience that just put plates silverware and napkins in the middle off the table just dropped it like here you go figure it out.

I had heard about this place for years and finally decided to check it out. Met up for a date and had some great drinks and great food. For sure one of the better Whiskey Sours I’ve had in a while. Didn’t have high hopes for the food but was blown away by how great it ended up being. We ordered the A for 2 people. The soup it came with was amazing. I will for sure being going back again and again.

We’ve been to this place for over 10 years now, and it hasn’t changed. The décor is no frills. The food is consistently good. Must try items are(typically)Mongolian Beef, General’s Chicken, Honey Walnut Prawns, and Veggie Combo.

I like this place. We have a family tradition of going here on Christmas eve. I always order the general sao. Each time I go I order it spicier. I was not aware the spice level could go up to level 20! Usually if it’s 5* I say 7 so they really know how spicy I want it. Now I know for next time

So this is the second time I have placed an order, been told 30 minutes for it to be ready, shown up to find that the staff took an order and there was no cook on staff to make it. Terrible customer customer service. If there isn’t a cook available to make the food, don’t take the order, especially when I show up 40 minutes later expecting to pick up my food, and the staff act surprised when I’m pissed. This place is unreliable in an area with plenty of other good Chinese restaurants that are happy to take their revenues.

I would give 4& ½ stars if I could. This is by far the best Chinese food in the North End and I’ve tried most of them at this point. The only reason I’m not giving a full 5 is because my favorite dish is Almond Chicken and theirs is not my favorite. I think it’s mostly the gravy but everything else on the menu is top notch. When new people move here and want to know where to find the best Chinese food in the area, I either send them or bring them to Taster’s Wok and I’ve never had a single disappointed review. They usually all report back to me every time they visit again and thank me again for the recommendation. Their food is fresh and everything other than the almond chicken is on point. I love their Garlic Chicken dish. That and another couple of plates are things that we don’t order anywhere else. Based upon personal experience and a lot of observation and feedback, I give this place my full endorsement.

Our favorite Asian cuisine in Lynnwood. Tonight we decided to dine in and ordered appetizers from their small plates section. We ordered the fried shrimp and the crab rangoon, each comes with 4 pieces accompanied by yummy sweet and sour sauce with a dollop of spicy mustard. We also ordered a bowl of wonton soup to share and for our main entrée we decided to finally order general’s chicken for the first time. There was so much food, it was insane! I dont know how anyone could order their own entrées here, it’s definitely a place to go where you share. We couldn’t finish the general’s chicken and when packed in a container, the balance filled up the container to go. The crab rangoons here are so delicious! The fried shrimp isn’t quite as light as a tempura batter but still had that lighter appeal with a touch more breading. It’s more of a Chinese recipe breading than Japanese. Absolutely scrumptious and the shrimp is huge! The wonton soup is an enormous order with fresh vegetables, wontons and we chose chicken this time although all the varieties are yummy. This wonton soup served here is by far the most superior wonton soup I’ve ever had. The generals chicken was an enormous portion that could easily feed 2 – 4 people. The spice of the chicken was flavorful and had some warmth without being too spicy. The good quality chicken had a nice crisp and was very tasty. Our bill for 2 appetizers, huge soup, large entrée and drinks came up to $ 27 with tax included and we have a whole dinner for the next day. Truly a hidden authentic gem in Lynnwood. The service was excellent and our server was friendly, prompt and checked on us frequently despite how busy the restaurant was. Our food was staggered which allowed us to truly enjoy each dish without everything all at once or feeling rushed. We started with the small plates then the soup and lastly the main entrée. This restaurant is always busy as it really is the best Asian food with phenomenal prices north of Seattle. We won’t go anywhere else in the north. The décor is beautiful and its evident the owners take pride in their establishment. Perfect place for couples, families, children and guests.

My husband has been coming to Taster’s Wok since he was in junior high, and when we met we started coming here together. We’ve eaten in both the restaurant and bar side, and the service has mostly been fast and friendly. Only once did we come in and it was a total nut show — insanely busy, took forever to get our food, and my husband’s General Tso’s chicken wasn’t like it usually was. But — we think it was an anomaly because the server seemed new, so we really didn’t blame the restaurant. I’ve tried several things off their menu, from the honey walnut prawns, to mu shu pork, to moo goo gai pan and my favorite the ginger beef. I really haven’t had a bad meal here. I’ve even ordered off of their«no added oil» limited menu, where I had stirfried veggies and even they were tasty, despite being much more ‘regular’ compared to the rest of their menu. I don’t think there is really any Chinese restaurant that is 100% authentically Chinese, and Taster’s Wok is no different. But what they do, they do really well. I have to knock a star off my review because of the horrific parking situation here. Unless you get here really early before the dinner diners come in, good luck finding a parking spot here. There’s only one entrance & exit, right off of Hwy 99, and the only way to describe this parking lot is a «cluster****». We’ve even had desperate people picking up orders block our properly parked vehicle in a parking spot, because the parking is so unbelievably scarce. We’ve had to use the parking lot next door, which I believe is a daycare, because there was none in the Taster’s lot — which really isn’t too bad, because getting in and out and finding a spot isn’t nearly the headache it is in their own lot.

Where can you get a sit down dinner at a restaurant for 3 people for $ 42? Tasters Wok, that’s where!!! Talk about impressed. We headed to Tasters Wok after being detoured away from PF Changs(due to a grease fire!) Happy accident for us! It was a Saturday night, and they were very busy. The waiter said it might be slower service to get food because they were so busy. We appreciated that and stuck it out. The prices are pretty incredible if you choose the family style entrees. All entrees are around $ 8.50-$ 9.95. We chose 4 entrees to share between 3 people. We ordered Lemon Grass Chicken, Sweet & Sour pork, BBQ pork & Basil Beef. We expected to wait a long time, but to our surprise it came out relatively quick! We got a pot of rice to share, and they gladly brought more out when asked. My favorite dish was the Lemon Grass chicken. The bill came, and was only $ 42, percent which included 4 entrees &2 sodas for 3 people! Wow, what a deal! We were so impressed we went back for lunch a week later. Lunch style is served like an actual meal. All the lunches come with pork fried rice, soup and salad. My husband and I ordered 3 meals and ate them«family style». This time we ordered the General Tsos, Sweet & Sour pork and Kung Pao Chicken. I opted for white rice for 2 of the entrees. They brought it out with small plates so we could share the entrees. Their service is always on point! The tab for this lunch, $ 21 ! The lunch entrees are all around $ 6.50 each. You can’t even get teriyaki for that. Let alone a sit down lunch with soup, salad and an entrée!!! This place rocks! If you’re looking for a value, look no further!

Tasters Wok is our local go to for both dine in and take out. We love the hot and sour soup and house fried rice as they are loaded with special flavors and boatloads of ingredients! Service is always attentive, portions more than adequate and prices are reasonable regardless what you order. A take out container is almost always a requirement as we rarely consume everything! The tempura fried pawns appetizer is always a great choice, light, hot and plump! The daily lunch menu always offers a great value as it includes entrée, fried rice, soup and salad for well under $ 10. General’s Chicken is the best ever! You will enjoy your first visit because when you leave you will plan to return to Taster’s Wok for more!
