Not the best and not the worst dim sum we’ve had. The food that was served was mediocre at best. Not everything that came out was pipping hot. They have the usual offerings like har gao, shui mai, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf, chicken feet, buns etc. The tables we sat at was pretty sticky and icky. The place is kind of dingy. Their prices are a bit high and I think we got over charged on our bill. Make sure you check your bills peeps. I don’t know about you, but being charged $ 80+ for two people is quite crazy. It’s not like we ordered anything«special». I haven’t been back since.

I actually like the taste but everything is über oily. Unfortunately, there’s hardly any room to walk in between tables during peak hours. You’re better off getting something from the cart because chances are they’d forget half of what you ordered from the menu.

An average dim sum place in the area. They have the usual dim sum that you would expect. I was not too impressed but if you are craving some like I did, then its okay to come here. First impression was the small space and limited seating. Also looked kind of shady and dirty. The food was alright. Some of the dim sum was hot and fresh. Some, I do not know how long it has been out on the cart and was barely warm when I ate it. Besides the cart, you can also order from a menu with other Chinese dishes along with dim sum. Service was not too bad but when it was busy it took a while to get some more dim sum. For a last resort or just wanting some basic dim sum, then I would not mind going here. But if you want to drive all the way to Seattle International District, I would do that instead. Overall, it is middle of the road for me and has its ups and downs. I just love dim sum so I will eat any of it that comes in front of me.

The first time I went here was probably worth a 3 star review, and I gave it another chance, but after that second trip, I am staying far away. — We waited half an hour for water, and only got it after we asked. — The place is dirty. — We waited an hour for food, only to be served one of the dishes– which cost $ 8, and wasn’t even worth it. Not tasty. — The shrimp balls were cut with pocket scissors — who even knows where that’s been. — Server was not nice/polite/courteous. — Overpriced This scarred our friend, and I am sad about that. I am going elsewhere for good Dum Sum; never again to HK Dim Sum.

By far the best dim sum I’ve been to. I’ve been all over and this is great. A plus when we don’t have to drive to downtown Seattle to get it. House noodle special, honey garlic pork spare ribs is un real. Best pork shu Mai with a small shrimpy on top… amazing, try it and you will keep coming back. Crispy shrimp is awesome too. We make it point to come here every time we in the Seattle area. Enjoy.

We’ve tried a few Chinese restaurants around the area and so far, we think HK Dim Sum produces the best Chinese food around the area at the most reasonable rate. We went to eat dim sum a couple of Saturdays ago and people who have reviewed this place is right — the dim sum aren’t that special. Yes, the ones down in International District are better, fresher, hotter, whatever, but if you are like me who lives up in Mill Creek; driving an hour in horrible traffic for lunch or dinner isn’t worth it. HK Dim Sum is the best in the area, and people should recognize this. In additional to the dim sum, we ordered a beef ho fun(thick noodle stir fry), and this is what makes HK Dim Sum better than all the other restaurants: the cook can gets the wok hot enough to get the taste of fire. The restaurant itself is small, the décor sucks… it’s not a spot for date night. It’s a spot to go to for takeout and dim sum if you live up here in way north of seattle.

This used to be good and fresh and friendly when they opened. I went recently place is dirty. Just look at poor dirty fish turtle tank at door. Everthing is cluttered looking. Service is slow and forgetful. I asked for waters 3 times. Dim sum cart was manned by one lady and she was slow but nice. She handled both carts. If they were out of something on cart good luck getting it even if u ask a server. Food seemed old dryed out even though place had a good flow of customers on weekend. And place was ¾ full. I dont recommend this place for dim sum

This place certainly isn’t bad, but it’s not the greatest either. They have a wide variety of dumplings to choose from but it can become a bit expensive. Also, the décor inside is chaotic and it looks like it needs a good scrubbing. The customer service is always very friendly in the restaurant but calling in an order can be challenging at times. Every time I have called in an order it seems like they have trouble hearing me. I do not have that issue when calling other places, so it must be their phone speaker. All in all, I frequent this restaurant because it is close and the dumplings aren’t bad. It definitely will satisfy a dumpling craving, but it’s by no means fancy or the best dim sum I’ve ever had.

Cons: food was mediocre, served us old food. Service was very poor. Price was high. Cleanliness was poor. How is this business still open. Never going back and would never recommend to anyone. Would rather drive to Chinatown 20 miles down than come back here. Pros: HDTV for football

Not super impressed with this one. Smaller than your average dim sum place so we were hoping for cheaper prices. Not really, which would have been fine if the selection had been better. The place was congested and the carts very slow in going around as there was only one lady pushing both carts. We had to order half of our food off the menu. That would have been fine too, except we didn’t realize this until after being visited by both carts(and then never again). It took forever to get the attention of one of the other waitresses before we could even order. Then it took a while for items to come out. Dim sum quality itself is only average. Except for the egg custard buns. OMG, those are good! However, I have never had the pleasure of eating these before so I can’t really compare them to others. The soup dumplings were pretty good too. Good quantity of soup inside each dumpling which really spurted out when you ate them. The wrappers seemed a little thick, but I think necessary considering the amount of soup in the dumpling. Stuffed eggplant was pretty awful. We took that off the cart and it wasn’t fresh at all. Would recommend the egg custard buns and that’s pretty much it.

DONOT bother coming here! I love finding hole in the walls &HIDDENGEMSBUTTHISISNEITHER!!! If you want dim sum JUSTMAKETHETRECKTO D.T.F. My hubby n i ordered 6 different dim sum dishes n though they werent awful the soup inside the soup dumpling was gelatin. Looked like chunks of ice oozing out if it! I had to ask for water three different times becore I GAVEUP N WALKEDOUTTOOURCARANDGRABBED A BOTTLEOFWATERFROM our CAR! Perhaps the owner felt my hubbies glare because shortly after she brought us water, unfortunately it had ANENORMOUSCRACK in the GLASS! When we went up to pay we noticed the kitchen was dirty! The flies were in the warm display case on the bun desserts and on the custard pie dessert! With it being a warmer we are sure you will have maggots in a day or so!!! The table top is filthy and there is a film on the tea cup. If you are compelled to come here the only recommendation is the garlic mustard cabbage, as such i give a one star! I have a photo of the fly too but having trouble adding it after the fact!!!

Don’t get me started with the egg yolk bun! Absolute perfection. Very creamy and there’s a lot of fillings too! The bun is super soft. If you don’t know what to get in here, Seriously. Try the egg yolk bun. Heaven in your mouth!

Why this place has only 3.5 stars on Unilocal is beyond me. I was blown away by the food here. I was so full but could not stop eating. I was planning on taking pictures but ended up just stuffing my face instead. We got all the tradition dim sum classics. The skin on the wontons were all perfectly cooked. The fillings tasted fresh and had a great bite/texture to them. Definitely end the meal with the salted egg yolk bun. Man. It is divine.

Amazing! Best Dim Sum outside of the International District in Seattle or that I have had since being in Shanghai. Definitely not American Chinese food that most are used to. Must finish the meal with salted egg yolk custard bun. Could live off those. Service was great as well. We will be back and recommend to everyone.

This place is my new jam. Seriously! Don’t be put off by the hole in the wall feel, venture in and try the awesome Dim Sum! The owner was really sweet and she showed us how to eat some of t he menu items and she recommended two super stellar things: Special Soup in Pork Buns and the shrimp in noodle thing. Those soup in pork buns… OH. MY. SEXY. MOUTHFUL! So good. Hard to eat, but super amazing. I can’t even, guys. The words. Just. Blam! We ate A LOT of food for thirty bucks, probably like eight or nine orders of dim sum. Super amazing. I just can’t even. The nay sayers can suck it, for the price you just can’t find food this awesome anywhere else but China town proper in Seattle or Portland.

Pretty nice dim sum place with a wide food selection. Special noodle roll is great! A must order! Egg yolk bun is nice as well. Other dishes are of average quality. Price might be a little higher than pther dim sum places but is acceptable considering the speed and quality Background music is «Beijing welcomes you». :)

We used to frequent top gun at factoria for dim sun before we moved and it was OK. Since we settled down in bothell this little place has become the closest dim sum place. We weren’t quite sure if our weekend dining experience would take a hit. This has turned out quiet a pleasant surprise. The place is tiny compared to top gun but the food is better in almost every way. The two of us ordered 6 dishes, house special noodle roll, special soup bun, beef tripe, chicken feet, and some other stuff and we liked all of them. I would especially recommend their house special noodle roll and it was the best I’ve ever had. It’s $ 7.25 for that one alone but I think it’s well worth it. The price is right too.

Personally, for the prices they set, the dim sum could be better. The rice roll skin they use is pretty good but the fillings were not as fresh as I would have expected. We ordered the BBQ pork rice roll, which is something they have to prepare in the back as it is not as frequently requested as say a shrimp rice roll. The pork was a little fatty and felt as though it lacked something I couldn’t put my finger on. The pork riblets were good. If I’d had to describe it, Eastern Pearl in Redmond has a recipe that is more wine and spices whereas this restaurant uses more of a fermented black bean taste. Both are good. We also had egg tarts, tripe, shu-mai, ha-gao, chives and shrimp dumplings, and white radish cake. The egg tarts had a lot of dough. Not bad, just more than some places. The tripe was okay. I believe it could have used more spice. It tasted a bit bland. The Shu Mai was better than some places I’ve been to. The ha-gao was again, because of the shrimp, not so stellar. Which also leads me to believe that they make most of their items if not all– in house. That is an great thing. Some places buy the frozen dimsum from markets and charge you upsell for it. At least I am getting items made from scratch– I think.(haven’t tried everything yet) The chives and shrimp– somehow the shrimp wasn’t so fresh to my palate but the rice roll was good. The white radish cake was good. I’d definitely get this dish again. You can taste the radish in there whereas other places, this dish can taste more flour/cake like and less radish-like. All in all, the chef seems to have the skills(which is definitely needed to create the skins they use in their dishes). I’ll have to come back and try the buns and other items to actually know if my first assessment was correct. The waiters and waitresses were very attentive. I think the shop could do with a little internal face lift.

Damn good Dim Sum even this far north of the ID. I found the service to be good. She made sure that we were ordering the dishes that we actually wanted and was happy to get us things that weren’t on the cart. The prices were actually a little spendier that I expected, probably due to the lack of extremely cheap Asian grocery stores nearby. That egg cream bun will haunt my dreams. So damn good.

Small, cozy, cute, I like it. Normally dim sum places are huge but this is a nice place to go for really small groups, its normally pretty empty unless you go on sunday and even then the service is still good. Its nice not to have to drive all the way to seattle for some good dim sum, although this is not cart style I still dig it.
