History
Established in 2009.
Mortgage Equity Partners is comprised of former leaders and executives from prominent «national lenders.» The principals alone have over 100 years combined experience in the mortgage industry.
As regulation brought much needed reform, the mortgage industry began to evolve. The founding team at MEP felt that one of the changes taking place was that many large national banks did not want to be leaders in the mortgage finance market. This left the industry fragmented and the result was that the industry leaders became more localized; smaller mortgage companies, community banks, and credit unions became the best suited firms to aid consumers with their home loans.
However, best in class loan officer staffs and operations teams are typically not found at local community banking organizations and the best positioned organizations are the small, local companies. We have taken the best practices of large banking and combine them with the best practices of small service oriented firms.
Meet the Business Owner
Sean R.
Business Owner
Sean Riley founded Mortgage Equity Partners in 2009. Mr. Riley started his career at Washington Mutual Bank in 1993. At «WaMu» he started as loan officer and went on to hold many different positions including branch manager, product trainer, sales manger, and regional executive for New England. Mr. Riley oversaw one billion dollars per year in loan production and much of the staff that supported that loan production. Mr. Riley who also is an attorney (he attended law school in Boston during his early years at WaMu) amassed a significant amount of experience in mortgage regulation and mortgage compliance law during his corporate banking career. The expertise in regulation and compliance would turn out to be a critical asset in the future when much of the industry was re-engineered with a focus on regulation and compliance. Additionally the professional relationships that were forged during this time would also play a critical part in the formation of Mortgage Equity Partners.
