My first time here, the owner is so helpful. My regular dresser cancelled last minute, I found this place and called. I needed extensions and had lots of questions the owner answered everything, met me at the beauty supply store, helped me puck everything out. She fit me in right away, so helpful and knowledgble. I recommend this shop. Love the way my hair came out.

So I saw this shop listed on Groupon, a keratin and a cut for $ 79 what a deal. Man I had no idea that nightmare that I would be walking into. When I was ready to get my hair done I tried calling the number listed online. I kept getting a message that said «The caller your trying to reach is unavailable.», after about a day of this I finally got to the answering machine that told me to call another number. This happened to be the owners cell phone number. A little weird but I went with it, she gave me an appointment time for 10 am the next morning. I show up at 9:45 am and get out of my car to go inside. (Mind you this is not exactly in a great part of Lynn) The sign said open, lights on but the door was locked. So I waited in my car till 10 am waiting to see if anybody showed up. Nobody showed up so I called the shop’s number and go the cell phone number. When I called that number and explained who I was the women said «I have four boys, I’ll be there in ten minutes.» Not even a «Oh I’m sorry», all I got was an attitude. So twenty minutes later she shows up. So I go in and the place looks very bare, kinda dirty and it was just myself and the owner in the shop. So we talked a little about what I wanted done to my hair as far as the cut and I said I just wanted a trim and to get the keratin done. She then proceeded to tell me I had a mullet. I’m sorry but thats just rude and insulting you should keep comments like that to yourself. So over to the sink we went where she only washed my hair once. (Normally before you get a keratin the hair is washed 2 – 4 times, I even called the manufacture of the brand of keratin she claimed to use after I left) So she proceeded to cut my hair and before I knew it more hair then I wanted was on the floor. Then onto the keratin itself. She did not allow it to sit in my hair before she blew it out or used the flat iron because she was in a rush. Her kids and her friends called multiple times while she was doing my hair. Afterwards she put curls in my hair I walked out of there with a head of curls. The whole point of a keratin is to straighten your hair. No bending your hair, no hats ect. Once I finally got to my car I knew something was very wrong. I rushed home and used my own flat iron to get the curls out. I was horrified at what I saw when I did. One side of my hair was two inches longer than the other and it was jagged in the back. So I was stuck like that for three days praying that at least the keratin would stay in, which it did not. (I use all organic sulfate free, chemical free shampoo so it was not my shampoo!) So now I had to go to another REAL SALON to fix my hair and waste time and money. This place is a joke don’t waste your time or your money. Your hair will thank you.

Got a keratin yesterday. She did a great job and the service was quick (I hate being at a salon for hours on end). She trimmed my hair before the actual keratin and I must say the haircut is amazing. I will be going back if just for a haircut alone. The owner Katrina is very nice and professional explaining everything. Conveniently located in buildings 140 union (social security administration) but you can access it through the side street (Smith Street) with ease. Will definitely be going back to get more wonderful hair cuts!

I came to the Smooth Silhouette after purchasing a Groupon for a wash, cut, blow dry, and keratin treatment. Because my hair is so long and thick, I had to pay a little bit extra, but for what I was getting, it was a bargain for my first ever keratin treatment! Katrina is very professional. She has experience with all hair types-​black, white, you name it. I am so pleased with the results of my keratin treatment. What’s best is that the products she uses do not contain formaldehyde. When getting the treatment done, Katrina recommends purchasing GK products, which I did. She sold them to me for cheaper than what the products are going for on Amazon, which is a really good deal. Katrina’s salon won an award for best salon in Lynn in 2012, and I can definitely see why. The prices are very fair, and she has a loyalty program. (refer 6 friends, get the next keratin treatment free!) The place accepts cash and credit cards. It is definitely family-​friendly, as her children were in the salon with us, just being kids. Well worth the drive out to Lynn.

Love this place!!! The owner did my hair and it looks AMAZING and more importantly HEALTHY.
My cousin gave me the shops number and I went from Dorchester (easy 20min drive) to the shop to get a perm, however after Katrina the owner talked to me and exanimated my hair, she advised me of the Keratin Hair Treatment would be better. I trusted her because she was able to explain everything to me and explain how important it is to get my hair healthy but looking beautiful. She gave me a color, and Keratin Hair Treatment and it is the best my hair has ever looked. My boyfriend will not keep his hands out of my hair. My hair has great body and movement and is the shiniest it has every been!
The price for all my services were great. I would have paid more for all which I received. Katrina’s shampooing was so relaxing I wanted to fall asleep! It was the best service I ever received from a salon, and I get my hair done all the time. It is hard to find salons were people have REAL knowledge about hair and want your hair to be healthy and looking good. BUT I FOUND THE SHOP and I have a new styles for LIFE!!. Katrina is sweet and knows what she is doing. She has the hands which will transform your hair to make you very happy!

A few months ago I stopped in here to get some extensions. They were done by the owner, Katrina. She was the ultimate professional, and super nice. She did a GREAT job on them… the extensions looked totally natural and were not too tight. Unfortunately the pics are lost in my old phone, but Next time im in the Boston area, ill def come back to her for more extensions.
