Please steer clear of this place… Totally unprofessional, sent us a headlight for a 2009 328xi BMW the bracket had epoxy all over them… Not what was described at all.(I have a picture of it on my Unilocal account). Our shop does top quality repairs, How on earth are we suppose to put crap in a vehicle (this is the type of work that puts us out of business and gives this industry a bad name). The customer invested in a M-​Package, so when he opens his hood hes gonna see it. Unfortunate for them the owner of the shop i manage called in to talk with someone about it… They told him «WHY ARE YOU WASTING MY TIME»? Really? So Harbor Auto Used Auto Parts this is how you treat folks. We weren’t wasting your time when you got paid. Don’t worry iv’e contacted our credit card company. I only wish that my boss would have see the reviews first. So people how care about customer service, good product, and just plan respect, DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this company AT ALL. From reading the reviews here this company is not even salvageable. Either the owner doesn’t care, or they are content on living paycheck to paycheck. The industry deserves better…

Here is my response to the «owners» comment.
Actually they are not the same part, there is a difference as jim clearly saw when he finally came outside to see the one on my car. Not to mention the part you sold me had broken clips so i would not have even been able to secure it properly even if it was the correct part. To address me bringing a sample part in Im not going to remove an airbox from a perfectly working car so you can see its different when he could have and clearly did see when he came outside to look, just another example of bad policy cop out. Mine clearly had two air intake ports where yours had one of those ports blocked with hard plastic in the factory mold as it should be for a 2.4 L. Do you know why? Maybe you should do some research because a 3.5 needs more air than a smaller engine so thanks for your suggestion of me to do some research but i think its you who needs to get the facts straight. I have seen the parts with my own eyes and know they are different and so did jim when he saw thats why he could not deny the truth even though he tried like heck to say it was the same just like you but in the end it did not have two open air intake channels only one, i needed two like the one on my car.
Secondly i was told the part was already off the car and sitting on a shelf when i called to see if you had the part. Not sure how much labor would be involved with replacing the item on a shelf in a warehouse but im sure its not going to bankrupt you. Not to mention i live in danvers and it took me over 30 mins to drive there 30 back and then i had to make the drive again when i was told i could bring it back and then spent an hour on top of all that arguing my case. Thats roughly 3 hours of my time i will never get back. So while you are worried about losing out on a 10 minute removal of a part that was already on a shelf i personally lost 3 hours, you dont even care what it cost me, bet you never even considered it. Further more you pay these people by the hour anyway so even if they did go and get the part (because you are the only junk yard by the way in this area that does not allow people to get part themselves) you would have paid them the same hourly wage for sitting there waiting for a customer to come and ask for something but like i said i was told the part was on a warehouse shelf, there for you are not justified in your statements.
Heres a suggestion for you. If you truly are the owner, you are the problem, not your employees. You are obviously greedy and are willing to sacrifice customer satisfaction because you didnt want to «lose out «. Obviously on a big job like engine removal or something similar that would make sense and i would obviously understand your position in the matter but seriously you obviously learned nothing from my experience and review and here’s the proof right here in your foolish response for all to see.
Heres a clue since you dont seem to have one. You guys are doing stuff wrong, you need to stop being so greedy and treat every situation as a unique problem and stop using a cop out hidden and hard to see disclaimer as a cookie cutter template for every situation. Every situation should be intelligently evaluated and handled appropriately. Not just no because no means no and no no read the sign… blah blah and so on. These glowing reviews you have collected are proof as if this response is not proof enough. I seriously doubt you are the owner because i was told there’s many owners so i think you’re more like additional or replacement bad management. If was the owner id change my policies and help my business grow in a positive direction and that would include educating you on intelligent evaluation of situations and when to stick to your policies and when its seriously ridiculous to not admit you guys where wrong and this is one of those times but you still act like you where right and its laughable.
I honestly dont want to have to write this stuff seriously, I like leaving good reviews i do feel bad you make me do this but thats how horribly i feel i was treated and thats how bad your business is being run that people need to know so they can go somewhere else until you guys start getting good reviews proving your not a terrible company. I would be more than happy to advise you on how to treat customers, but i already have and… um… i dont think it quite sunk in yet. maybe a few more upset customers will make you change your ways or maybe it will be your doors closing, lets hope neither of those things happen and you just start acting like american business owners who respect their customers choice to shop with you. because we do have a choice.

Terrible customer service! sold me a radio module with water damage (part had a lot of rust on the outside and on the inside) told him when saw part that it looked terrible but he said it was fine. Check part and it wasn’t working when came back to return it they charged me $ 132 dollars and gave a store credit with remaining balance it was clear they mistake in selling a bad part. they will take your money and give you a attitude. They don’t care about their customer… Very up-​sad and lost $ 525 as don’t want to go back to that place

The guy sitting at the counter looked like I walked into his bedroom at 4am. He literally appeared irritated a customer was walking into his place. I should have turned around at that point but I didn’t. He was irritated that I went in looking for a small interior component and immediately said there was no way he had it and if he did he would sell me the entire door panel and not just the simple piece I needed. Thy guy seemed very knowledgable about auto parts but extremely incapable of helpful customer service. If you can deal with the ignorant and unwelcoming personality this may be your place. How bad do you need that part?

I ALWAYS check Unilocal why didn’t I this time? Ordered a motor for my son’s truck — was told we would get a call mid week (never did), then we got pummeled with snow so called back expecting a delay because of the snow and were told the truck was IN THE BAY and would be getting a call mid week — my son called mid week and was told the truck was BURIED IN SNOW… my husband called and was told it was IN THE BAY… now you can imagine my husbands patience was quickly going down hill — especially when the man said he was never told it was in the bay. Then he told him that he was afraid we would screw him over (they took our credit card info and told us we would be charged if we didn’t get it) Then he told my husband if he kept harrassing him it would take longer — my husband told him to SHOVE it and we took our business elsewhere! DON’T USE THEM!!!

The biggest smart asses I have ever dealt with. I purchased a transmission on Thursday and they said it would be ready to be picked up on Monday and that they would call me. So I call on Friday afternoon (at their recommendation) to see if they were able to get to it. Yes, they are working on the transmission… we’ll call you when it’s ready.
They finally called on Wednesday complaining they didn’t have a bill of waiting for the shipping. SO when I call on to clarify the problem the guy is a total jerk and calls me a liar and that I don’t know what I’m talking about.
Bad customer service! Do not deal with these folks.

I once went to Harbor auto years ago (like 2006 or 7) to find parts for my 70s diesel mercedes. I didn’t love the place then – the most filthy front office of a business ever – but they had the part I needed, paid for it, no hassle.
Fast forward to 2014. I don’t know what their business segment is these days, but DON’T assume that the parts that they say they have and what searches like Car-​Part say they do are things they actually intend to sell you! (But they WILL charge for them!) Nowadays, they are mainly interested in collecting money, what a novel business if you can get it!
This week, I needed new rear calipers because idiot towing company towed the Saab 4 miles to Andrew and burned up/​seized the rear brakes (hard way to learn to Never Apply Parking Brake in Street Parking = Major headache!) Annnywaaay… they charged me $ 53.12 for two calipers, then told me it would take them a half a day or a whole day to remove them: «So by the way, you’ll need to make another T/​bike trip from downtown to pick up your filthy calipers» … To make a long story short two days later, after calling them a few times, the real story emerges. Woman who took my money in person tells me over the phone it really isn’t worth it for them to remove these calipers not only in the time promised, but AT ALL. So they took my over $ 50 for something it «wasn’t worthwhile» for them to do — hoping i’d go away and they could keep the $ 50 and change?!? WOW. So many better «auto parts recyclers» (JUNKYARDS!) to go to.

Horrible. If I could give them ZERO stars I would. Rude, obnoxious, unprofessional, and hard to believe these pathetic jerks are still in business. Avoid avoid avoid !!!

I needed four alloy wheels. They don’t show them to you, claiming they’re still on the car. You can’t go into the yard to see anything. They show you a picture of one wheel (best one of the set), not four. Its your decision to buy them or not… They say that the rest of the wheels is just like the one in picture (not even close).
Once you pay for your item, there’s no refunds. They don’t give a $hit about anything else, but to get your money from you.
Look at the rest of reviews. One 5 star review was definitely written by their staff.

I bought a used part from these people. They sent the first part UPS. It was junk, previously repaired and the inside was broken. I asked them to make sure the adjusters were good, they were not, they were glued and non functional. Called to tell them this, they would not send another one because they feel it would break in transit. I drove 45 minutes north to this salvage yard and dealt with a man named Jim. He got me another headlight. The second headlight was also repaired and junk. Again, the adjusters were glued and non functional, absolute piece of junk. Jim told me it was a used part, it is off a 1998 car, what did I expect. I informed him I expected a part that was functional. He refused a refund and stormed out of the office. Totally unprofessional and they sell junk parts. Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from this place.

Bank of America is still disputing Harbor’s ridiculous charges.
