I have lowered expectations for urgent care type clinics. I tend to only go to these types of places on weekends or holidays or as a last resort. I expect to wait a long time for routine services but I understand that’s part of the process. But the wait time here is ridiculous. Since I can practically walk to this location, I thought I’d pop in on a Sunday morning to get meds for a sinus infection. I wasn’t surprised to see a full waiting room but I was surprised to see that there was one person working — handling treatment and billing. Talk about an efficiency FAIL! I spent 2 hours waiting to be seen. I should have listened to my gut and left after a half hour but I figured that I wouldn’t be waiting much more than an hour. In an urgent care type place, I can deal with an hour wait. Once I was finally seen, the nurse practitioner diagnosed me before even looking at me. While she was handling my paperwork, she asked me to describe my symptoms and immediately told me what she thought was wrong and what I should do. Which was basically nothing. She said that I’d need to be sick for at least 7 days before she’d consider giving me antibiotics. When I protested(because I know my body and only go to the doc when I’m dying) she wrote me out a prescription but told me to hold on to it for a week. Um. Ok, lady. I don’t like to tell anyone how to do their job, but I felt like it was inappropriate for this woman to basically brush me off after waiting for 2 hours. This was just an overall awful, awkward experience at this not so Fast Clinic. It’s an embarrassment for this facility to be associated with UH. I would never go back and I would encourage you to go elsewhere. I’ll stick to a real urgent care center the next time I’m sick on a weekend, I guess.
