Ive eaten here 2 times. the first time was at the grand opening. Although the food was clearly over priced, my dish was good. I ordered breaded steak with rice & beans but the steak was HUGE& didn’t leave me with enough rice & beans to finish. The orders also arrived at different times & took a really long time. Yesterday, however, I called to place an order for pick up. The girl that answered the phone was rude. Then when I asked her for a total she said«I don’t know the price.» So I asked her to find out and she says«Umm. Sure.» Already pissed me off but whatever. I orderd a bandeja paisa and 2 empanadas. For those of you who know what a paisa has you will see the problem. I received white rice, MORCILLA, avocado, chicharron, steak & a container that was 1⁄3 beans & the rest caldo only. NO patacones, NO arepa &NO chorizo. & not even enough beans for one person. The rice was extremely greasy also. $ 22.10 for half of a Bandeja paisa &2 empanadas for pickup. Id rather take the hike to elizabeth. Not to mention a small can of colombian soda was $ 2.50 the first time i was there. Don’t waste your time or money.

I was SUPER excited to hear that a Colombian place opened up in Lyndhurst which has a Latin restaurant population of zero. I was even more excited to hear they had lunch specials and fresh baked Colombian goods. Upon arrival this place is easy to miss since it is literally the first floor of a house, which is surrounded by all these other houses in a very suburban street. Upon entering I was surprised that there was NOONE in there at lunch and their cases were completely EMPTY of baked goods. We still asked for a menu and what the daily lunch special was. I was surprised the special of the day was a lentil soup with rice and a side salad, for a Colombian restaurant I was really expecting more, maybe some sancocho(Colombian stew) or Carne encebollada(steak with onions). Either ways, we kept it small and just asked for two beef empanadas and a coffee. I asked if they were coming out with more pan de bonos or other baked goods and she said no. The empanadas took WAYYYY too long to make! I guess they needed to slaughter the cow in the back, a full 20 minutes, which is really ridiculous. So since so much love and care was obviously put into my order I thought they would be the best things I ever ate… and so wrong. They were full of potato and very little meat. Looking through the menu the prices were a bit high for what they offered and for being a new place. The picture of the burger does look great, but no way I’m paying $ 15 for a burger at this place. The lady at the counter was at MOST cordial, which I thought was not enough to establish new customers. Overall I don’t think I will be returning any time soon, I am a die hard fan of Noches de Colombia in Clifton where the service is fast and food is delicious. I hope business picks up and they learn how to push out orders faster and with better customer service.

Contrary to what this business’s Unilocal page says, they do not offer delivery. Just called them during dinner rush and then a women on the phone, rudely, told me they didn’t deliver. Very disappointing.

Good. And just like a lot of folks, I tried it out for curiosity. I have never had Columbian food, I’m happy it’s here because it is needed in the Lyndhurst community. For me, I prefer a lighter and spicier Cuisine.

First thing I always look at when I walk into a restaurant is how clean it is… This place is spotless … And the food is delicious!!! My husband and I rarely ever go out to eat but we are buying a house in lyndhurst and after our home inspection we figured we would stop in for some dinner… We were both so pleasantly surprised how really great the food was! The arroz con pollo was delicious as well as the empanadas we ordered for an appetizer, probably the best I’ve had… my husband had steak with onions and he said it was really good also… Definitely recommend this place!!!

Not digging the Patacon con carne, pollo y camarones. Definitely not worth the $ 17 I paid for it. A lot of meat on it, a lot of bland too, served open face. Have had better. Should’ve went with something else. Only reason I gave it 3 stars is because I can’t judge on the rest of the food served here. I just really hope it doesn’t taste as bland as this. Will give second attempt on something else, but as far as the patacon, no dice.

The name is pretty nice for a Colombian restaurant, however the food not so much. I wanted to try this place out for the first time since I live in town and I started with an empanada de carne(beef) I did a to go order, once I got home I sat down and when I opened the bag the empanada was so greasy the oil was literally pouring out of the empanada. I honesty wouldn’t recommend this place if the empanada has all the grease I can only imagine a chicharon!?.

New place within walking distance from our house — truly a great addition to Lyndhurst! The inside is similar to the pizza place that formerly inhabitated the space, but a few Colombian touches make it cozy. Definitely a casual spot. Eat in, take out or delivery. 5 stars for food. Delicious and authentic. We had the empanadas, churrasco and bandeja paisa(the«mini» portion which is still huge). They were out of the chorizo appetizer but we had more than enough food as it turned out. Our waitress was very sweet, courteous and efficient. As another reviewer mentioned, she is working on her English but knows more than enough to take care of her patrons! We waited a bit for our food but that was due to a large delivery order that was placed right before we got in, and the fact that it was close to closing. In fact, they did have to close early that night — not sure if they were out of food or just overwhelmed with the large order. Regardless, we had no issue waiting. We were happy that they had a lot of business. Highly recommend this place.

I am always skeptical with new restaurants as I’ve had bad experiences lol but this little gem truly caught me by surprise! We kept it simple and ordered the breaded chicken breast and holy moly was that chicken breast big and juicy! I only ate half but hubby was very satisfied as he can eat. We then proceeded with dessert. Hubby had tres leches which I tasted and OMG was it yummy. I ordered an Avena, that’s my ritual whenever I visit a colombian restaurant :) we both left very satisfied and our bill was only $ 39! Not bad for two big portion meals and dessert! Definitely plan on coming back here!

I was in Medellin last year and tasted paisa and san cocho and all sorts of food native to that wonderful city. So to my amazement, right in Lyndhurst opens Ay Hombe!, a Colombian restaurant. Had to go in and order paisa, the smaller plate. It was filled with rice, beans, avocado, chicharron, a fried egg and maduro. It was so good that I decided to go for dessert. The tres leches was more like a frozen custard than pudding and my cortadito helped wash it down. Kathy the waitress is still learning English so be gentle. Oh, on the weekends the serve san cocho.
