We are a professional moving & storage company that is owned and operated by military veterans and we take pride in our work. If you need storage that’s no problem we can move you into our storage unit and move you back out when you’re ready. When it comes to moving no job is too big or too small, we own a 26′ box truck for big moves and have a truck and enclosed trailer for smaller jobs. With American Moving and Storage you will always get an experienced crew that has the proper training and tools to move your belongings safely and efficiently and we will always have more than enough furniture pads to wrap your furniture in and keep safe during transport. We will make your move as stress free as possible.

History

Established in 2010.

I started out with just myself and a pick up truck and trailer while as an extra income and once I seen there was a high demand for an affordable moving company that did quality work I decided to do moving full time. From the beginning my goal has been to provide the highest standards of customer service at affordable rates and because we have done just that we now have 12 great guys that work for me full time, multiply trucks, and a self storage facility and are still growing.

Hi, my name is Jeremy. I moved to Lynchburg from Ohio 12 years ago to attend Liberty University. After Liberty I got married and now have a lovely wife and a son. After college I still wasn’t sure what I wanted to do and had always wanted to serve so I joined the Army to become a medic but because I was in the Army part time I needed extra income and that’s how I started moving folks. I started out posting adds for small jobs that I could do with my pick up truck and 4×8 trailer. Once I seen there was a good demand for moving in this area I got a box truck and started doing it full time. Last year I also built a self storage facility to complement the moving company. Hopefully if the Lords willing the company will continue grow and flourish!

Great job! On time, used great care loading and unloading my household. Worked quickly but with TLC. Zero damage to furniture, only one small scratch in my house. Were flexible with a changing schedule. I highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again.

Phenomenal job!!! We had furniture moved from my Dad’s house in Lynchburg to our new home in Ashburn, VA. They gave us a highly competitive quote. They advised that they would arrive at my father’s house at 8 and our house by 1. I thought that was overly ambitious but indeed they did! They didn’t even take a break. They were so professional and kind. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Fantastic job. So pleased with the process and price.

These guys were great to work with! Available on a Sunday with less than 2 weeks notice, they arrived on time, went right to work, and got it all moved in one trip (from a small house on one side of Lynchburg to another small house on the other side). Troy and Greg were pleasant, professional, and tackled the big items (like the full-​size chest freezer) as if it was no big deal… And the cost was much better than expected. Would gladly hire them again!

We were recently moving out of our large home and downsizing into a smaller place. We had a ton of stuff and knew it would take forever to try and do it ourselves, so we hired movers for the first time ever. We were wary of the process since it was so unfamiliar. Having strangers in your home handling everything that you own is a nerve-​racking process.
I cannot say enough positive things about this company, and the three movers that helped us — Derrick, Sydney, and Kevin. These gentlemen arrived early, warmly introduced themselves, and quickly learned our names. They were not put off by the amount of things we had to move, or our lack of organization (haha). They instantly got to work, and never slowed down from 9 AM to 5 PM, aside from a 30 minute lunch break which we were not charged for. There was no breaks or time wasting of any kind. We honestly couldn’t believe that it was physically possible for these guys to keep up the pace they were at for that long, and with such great attitudes, in the August heat no less. They were careful and respectful of our things, and professional the entire time.
They eased our worries and made the process so much easier for us. We were so impressed & it was worth every penny to hire them. Unfortunately, in today’s world it is rare to see someone do their job so well without complaining or slacking, and these guys proved there are still hard workers out there! Thanks again!

I made a reservation to use American Moving in Richmond Virginia two months prior to my move date on a Saturday in August, knowing that August is prime moving season and dates book up fast. I confirmed two weeks prior and a week prior to the move date, to ensure there would be no issues when it came time to move. The company called me on Thursday prior to my move confirming «we will be there at 8am Saturday». On Friday morning at 10:30, they call me explaining the truck has broken and there is nothing they can do to help me move. I asked if there was another truck? — No. Can I rent a truck and use your men? — No. Another date? — uncertain when the truck will be back up and running, so not for now. Is there anything you can do for me? — No. So less than 24 hours prior to my move, my movers entirely cancel, leaving me without a truck, movers or a plan.
Thankfully I was able to find another moving company with availability to help with my move, but I will never use American Moving again, this process has been frustrating and unprofessional.
