Buyer beware. I rented a vehicle due to an accident. My insurance company paid full bill without me shelling out a dime. Then a week after I returned vehicle I was charged $ 692.44. Hertz claims they never charged me then I told them it’s on my credit card as a plate charge. They referred me to a third party biller who processes tolls and fines.
They claim I used 80 tolls and there is a $ 25 convenience fee for each use of a so called ezpass that was not there. The tolls were for midtown tunnel & JFK Bridge formerly the Triborough Bridge. I told them I never used those tolls during my rental period.
They said they will investigate BUT if the mileage on the vehicle states I could have used it the charges will stay.
I will fight this till I die!
Nobody should ever rent from Hertz again! My gold pass will be burned at a Hertz location.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION! The vehicles are not cleaned. I was quoted one rated and was charged differently. I had to call the corporate office to complain and get my refund. Never again!

Great customer service but the cars here are always dirty. There were open soda bottles on the floor, dirty tissues everywhere and the car had a terrible oder. I dont understand how you could rent out a car in this condition. every time it’s like this at the lynbrook location. Last time for me though. Better off going to enterprise.

Terrible service. My boyfriend reserved a car for the Rent to Buy Program but when he came to pick it up, they couldn’t find the car and then told them that itw asn’t ready. He ended up being late for work while they were running around looking for it. He called them back later and left a message and they didn’t get back to him. I complained to customer service department on Twitter and all they could tell me was he should call the Rent to Buy phone number. I told them that they had poor customer service and it reflected poorly on their company. They claim that they will forward this to upper management. Let’s see though I’m not holding my breath.

Had an insurance rental here after someone had the bad grace to take a chunk out of my car, and was terribly underwhelmed.
Hertz #1 Gold — yeah… they don’t really care.
Sad little vehicles which really should have gotten a major tune-​up when the bigger airport location it came from punted it off the lot.
I was promised a car swap for something larger for 2 days, only to always be told that they just didn’t have anything. The matter was taken out of my hands when my rental had a sudden acceleration situation, and I immediately called Hertz and had the vehicle swapped out at JFK.
If you want to rent Hertz — go to JFK. This LE location really deserves a closer look from Corporate, because they just don’t represent the brand well at all.

Having a «local edition» Hertz nearby is great and very convenient when you need a car in a hurry. This location was great and close to home when I needed to rent a car for a week for business. I reserved on-​line and went to pick-​up the car, but didn’t have the size of car I was hoping for (I was trying to rent a standard size, but they were out and I had to settle for a compact). Also, it appears that the «local edition» of Hertz is where older cars (not terribly old), from the airport locations go when they get a bit banged up or what have you. Just also make sure you check stuff like the tires before you take the car because I found the tread on my car to be a bit low, but on the bright side they said I could swap the car for a different one at any other Hertz Local Edition if I felt unsafe.
