I hate to write this review because the man working here is so nice, but I just have to. I came in to shorten a bridesmaid dress. That, along with some other alterations and cleaning, came out to $ 75 total(completely reasonable price for about 4 items). With all the dresses hanging, I felt assured that he would do a good job. I came in about a week later to pick up my dress. I went home and tried it on. It didn’t look like it was not shortened at all. When we talked, he had mentioned that most people like their dresses to the ground, but I specifically said I’d rather it be a teensy bit shorter, so I don’t fall. I went back and nicely asked to have it shortened a bit more. He agreed without hesitation(and no additional charge). A week later I picked up the dress and tried it on. It was 1 length on the sides, 1 length in the front, and completely long on the back(instead of it being straight across, it was ½ circle shaped). I was so frustrated that I had to go to a completely different tailor to fix it. Nice guy and good prices. However, I would go here only for minor alterations(jeans, pants, etc) but not something as delicate as a bridesmaid dress.

Love Gus and Sofia Taylors, to the point that I will purposely stockpile clothes that need to be tailored and make sure I get them altered while visiting my parents in New York. I had to get a bridesmaid’s dress altered ASAP(within 24 hours). Gus completed the alterations and steamed the dress in that time and did a fantastic job. Prices were very reasonable. He charged me $ 50 to hem a chiffon dress and take it in in the bust area, whereas I’ve paid $ 40 to make minor strap adjustments to a cotton dress elsewhere. Pants are also very reasonable. Definitely would recommend Gus and Sofia Taylors!!!
