Description

Specialties

Tibbetts Family Farm is a four season family business.

In the spring our greenhouses offer vegetable plants, herbs and some annuals we grow ourselves. They are healthy and hardy because they are sold where they’re grown. We also sell loam, dark bark mulch and our own «Barnyard Blend Compost» that can be picked up or delivered locally. Son Jonathan raises naturally grown pigs and cows so we sell his pork and hamburg from a freezer. His wife Kelly raises chickens and her fresh eggs are also available.

In summer, we offer freshly picked vegetables, berries and apples along with pork, hamburg and eggs. Our corn, cucumbers and tomatoes are favorites of many customers along with many other vegetables and herbs.

Hay in rounds and squares can be picked up in the field or delivered.

In the fall, we offer pumpkins, cornstalks, and gourds along with winter squash, other vegetables, eggs and meat.

We plow snow in the winter for our neighbors.

History

Established in 1988.

Tibbetts Family Farm was started in 1988 as a self service roadside vegetable table called Honest John’s. As the children got older and more involved it became apparent that it was truly a family farm and the name was changed. As our name changed, so did the business; our friends and neighbors would ask to buy any extra vegetable seedlings and before we knew it, we had three greenhouses and were carrying a full line of annuals, and vegetable seedlings.

The self service table was replaced with a small building and moved from the roadside to its current location. Over the years we have expanded our products and services to include manure hauling, snowplowing, haying, pork and our latest venture, making compost.

We truly are a family business. John manages the farming end of things while son Jonathan handles the trucking and raises natural pork. Elaine’s accounting background enables her to do the bookkeeping while Sue manages the plants and greenhouses.
