History

Established in 1998.

A few years out of massage school, Peggy had a growing business and was doing well, but ⁹⁄₁₁ changed all that. She knew her passion was helping people who were in pain feel better. She was introduced to a new therapy that combined deep tissue massages and cranial therapy techniques that is still evolving and finding new ways of helping those in severe and chronic pain called Structural Energetic Therapy. A girlfriend of hers was going through the SET® training and kept encouraging her to try a workshop and experience the work. After the first weekend of a 2 weekend workshop, she immediately signed up for the 2 year training, which now is only 1 year. Doing the Structural Body Work has completely opened a whole new world to her practice. Before Structural Body Work, she considered herself a serious therapist. She had a neuromuscular and sports massage background. She could help clients with common aliments but the tough cases would come back in pain. After the Structural Body Work

Business Owner

Peggy Boyd, founder of Surgical Alternative in Tampa, has been a licensed therapist since 1998 and a graduate of the Institute of Structural Energetic Therapy since 2003. Peggy Boyd is a certified SET® therapist, trained in Emotional Release Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage Massage and is also trained in Structural Body Work Techniques for children 7 – 13 years of age. Peggy’s experience and mastery of work gives her the confidence and ability to effectively treat conditions such as, herniated discs, bulging discs, peripheral nerve damage and much more! Her passion and dedication to her work led her to become a Structural Energetic Therapy trainer as well. Peggy has her B.S. in Nutrition from Florida State University. Prior to SET®, her training as a massage therapist in Tampa, had been in neuromuscular therapy, prenatal and sports massage. She is a member of both the American Massage Therapy Association and the Florida State Massage Therapy Association. Peggy’s passion for her work and clie
