History

Established in 1998.

At Cameo Salon & Spa our main focus is exceptional customer service. We start every service with a complete consultation with both a lifestyle and physical hair analysis to create your customized hair plan. Our team of expert stylists are dedicated to client care and continued education. Olav M.

Business Owner

Olav was born in the Netherlands and grew up in South America. He came to the United States when he was 17. Olav worked in the ER for 14 years.

In 2006 Olav purchased Cameo Salon and Spa with his wife Lori Malm and never looked back. He has a loves this industry, his employees, and his guests. He looks forward to meeting you soon.

Great fun atmosphere! My nails still look fabulous 3 weeks later and that was what I’m used to. Just moved here from California. Needed to find an all in one. Everyone here was super nice funny and friendly. I had my nails done and a hair trim. Bought some gifts for a friend serving over seas and they treated me like I was the most important person in there. The male owner walked up and personally thanked me for paying their bills which was nice because so many other places act like the business is fine without their clients. I will be back and I have already referred friends because they have great service and I put my name on that recommendation. I’m horrible with names sorry for that but I had my hair cut by Sam, and my nails were done by Sonya and that I can remember! Amazing!

I have been a client for many years, and the owners treat their clients like family. Michael, Michele, Sarah, Clive and Yolanda have all done hair for members of my family, and we never leave disappointed! From grandma to grandkids, everyone has been in to have a beauty day! Sonya is truly one of the best nail techs in the Tampa area, and I have seen and experienced times when she has gone out of her way above and beyond, to make sure everyone leaves the salon feeling beautiful. All things considered, (location, size of the salon, and number of employees), this salon will not fail to deliver top of the line service and products. I typically get high lights, low lights, and root color, along with a cut and style, and I am a regular nail client. I buy my at home products here, and often times the salon will honor whatever deals might be running at the major beauty supply stores as long as I have the flier to show them what deals are out there. The team is up to date on all the latest and best products and techniques being offered by Redken, and knowing my manicures and nail services are being done with authentic top of the line products is a huge plus considering how many nail salons are out there offering to perform services with unmarked product containers. (Is it really OPI Polish or even worse– is it acrylic nail glue or is it a $ 1 tube of super adhesive?) At Cameo– the products are what the container says the product is, and the stylists are simply the best!

Worst experience ever!!! Went in for a conditioning treatment & haircut came out with orange/​brassy colored hair. Didn’t realize this until hours afterwards since the hair stylist had me leave the salon with wet hair (which was a tacky thing for the stylist to do). After my hair dried hours later is when I realized my hair was not even close to the shade I went into the salon with but was this awful orange/​brassy color. I called and spoke to the front desk manager and was asked to stop in the salon for them to see what my hair looked liked when I came back to the salon to express my dissatisfaction and show them the awful color of my hair I was treated as though the stylist did nothing wrong and it was my fault for the brassy/​orange tinted hair because I had done my own highlights previously. I did not go into the salon when my appointment was made with orange/​brassy hair though so obviously whatever was applied to my hair during a supposedly hair conditioning/​glaze treatment caused this but the salon and the stylist were not taking any blame for what had happened to my hair and didn’t offer any suggestions on how to remedy the issue. Customer service level is nonexistent at Cameo Salon! I will never be back and Cameo is also losing several of my friends who were clients to the salon. Customer Service should be a priority in this line of business unfortunately Cameo lacks this quality.

After a recent move to Fla, finally found Sonya @ Cameo! She is very professional and friendly. Place is beyond sanitary! Went for full body wax. Sonya was fast, thorough, and the whole procedure (including Brazilian) was nearly painless! Definitely will be back. Sonya is great. Highly recommend for both experienced waxers and newbies :-)

Initially I tried to get in with Rachael W. but she is booked weeks in advanced. (I was able to get my daughter in with Rachael for a haircut and she did a fantastic job). I have been to going Ashlee B. for a few months now and really like the way she colors, cuts and highlights my hair. Everyone has been super friendly at the front desk always wanting to accommodate every customer request. I’ve never had any of the spa services at Cameo but looks as if they offer a wide range from massage, facials, waxing, and manicure/​pedicures. They are conveniently off State Road 54 on Collier Parkway. Hours to meet any clients schedule — Monday 9:00am to 4:00pm, Tuesday-​Thursday 9:00am to 8:00pm, Friday 9:00am-7:00pm, Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday 12:00pm to 6:00pm. Worst salon experience ever. Worst customer service ever. If you are looking for a salon who does not have color for a French manicure and a salon who doesn’t have the ability to schedule an evening massage, this is the perfect place. They are great with changing your appointment time at the last minute and not being flexible or accommodating.
I was completely disappointed in my experience and communicated to the staff and management and they did not care one bit. I absolutely do not recommend frequenting this salon.

I have been going to this salon for years. I love RACHEL, she is my color stylist. She is amazing and such a sweet person to talk too. This salon has a wide variety of product which is nice too– they frequently have specials which is nice because any girl knows hair products can really add up. The also offer nail services along w/​other spa treatments.

A few years ago Cameo was recommended by one my daughters friends. I thought it would be to young for me but I was wrong. I have never felt more comfortable in a salon. Not only am I happy there but my daughter (23) looks forward to visits when she is home.
Ive been going there for years now and am delighted. Sonya treats my nails better than I do! And I am delighted that Ashley is now doing my hair.
I go there to have my nails and hair done, but I get spoiled and relaxed and reinvigorated — and I’ll never go anywhere else.

I’ve always had the best services done at Cameo with Lori and her staff. They are so friendly and knowledgeable. I’ve used their other services; such as facials, massages, manicures, and waxings with great and relaxing results (except for lip waxing). They have great products there so you don’t have to go searching town for them.

Cameo is one of those wonderful little jewels that hides in plain sight and sneaks up on you. Because I have a serious deficit in the way of hairstyling abilities, I went in for some help curling my hair for a charity event. Paige was great; she was friendly and helpful and really knew what she was doing. Even though my hair is really stubborn and didn’t make it easy, she found a way to make it look great.
I’ve been to my share of salons and I was really impressed with Cameo. I’ll definitely be getting my next cut there.
