Lutherville Animal Hospital

For the last 8 years we took our dog Spencer there and were pleased with the care he received and the service. It was easy to make an appointment and you never had to wait long once you got there. The staff would take him to a back room to get weight and other measurements and then we would go with him into the exam room. Dr. Volk is very nice and caring as are the staff. We unfortunately just had to put Spencer down and they were so caring in helping us through the process including a generous supply of tissues. We were moved when we recently received a condolence card signed by the entire staff with a really nice and fairly lengthy note, not just a perfunctory one line note.

Adopted a fat old cat with matted fur. I tried to cut out the matting myself but he hates having is sides and butt touched and I am not about having my cat hate me.
When I called on the phone they seemed willing to work with me on a price, but when I got there they tried to jack it up right away. I told the stylist I didn’t mind how he looked just that the clumps were removed.
When I got a call from her I thought it was to tell me he was ready for pick up. No, the first thing she had to say to me was that he tried to bite so she had to get a tech to help and that he was very mad. WELL, OF COURSE HE’S MAD! You are shaving a cat! That’s why I am paying you and not trimming him myself!
She apologized for is hair cut being uneven, but what I am most upset about is that she told me tat she couldn’t get the clumps around his neck. Sure enough, when I go to pick him up he’s still got clumps in is mane. Big ones that haven’t even been touched.
On top of all that she makes unsolicited remarks about how he should be on a diet and ow I should get I special cat shampoo. I already have done both of those things. I saved this cat two weeks ago! He came to me fat and gross, so don’t insinuate that I am mistreating him just because I don’t want to shell out $ 100 for something I can do at home.
It only cost me $ 25 but I might as well have flushed that cash because she didn’t do the one thing I needed done. This was really unprofessional.
Next time I’m just going to get a cat sedative and take care of him at home

This place is not my cup of tea… First impression when I walked in was «this place smells.» The place was small, cramped and beat up looking. They separate the owner and animal for weight and whatever else, the vet who we saw was awkward but nice. I just didn’t get the experience I was looking
