U-Haul Moving & Storage

Upon first look, this U-​haul location (which doubles as a gas station) probably wouldn’t look like a three star business. The building looks run down, with old signs, faded paint, and a cramped and dingy looking inside. Regardless, this place ended up with three stars for the following reasons:
1. The first U-​haul location, which was actually closer to my starting point, was deserted when I got there. Waited around for a little bit but no one ever showed up, despite the sign that promised they would «be back in 30 minutes». Even after leaving to pick up pizza and a phone charger (a good 30 minutes) and making multiple phone calls to the location, no luck and no answer.
2. Other U-​haul locations are spread all over York road (or so says Unilocal as well as various research on my phone… But they were all impossible to find. Perhaps it’s because I’m used to businesses having signs or maybe it’s because I’m not a local and don’t know the area… Regardless, I couldn’t find most of these supposed locations.
Upon finally finding this location, there were very limited options. But at least there was two 10-​ft trucks and a van… Although, that was it. I quickly made my way inside and began talking with the guy behind the counter. Nice enough, and he was straight to the point, which I liked («Starting location? Ending location? Do you want to drop the truck off at another location? Okay let me get a total for you.»)
He helped other customers as he was waiting for the forms to print out, and explained to me what was happening as well as policies as the process continued. He had a very thick Indian accent, and I will admit some of the things I had to ask him to repeat himself, and I never caught it the second time. But everything was spelled out in the forms, so no harm done there. He tried…
It ended up being about $ 200 from this location to Richmond. He printed out copies of the form for himself and me, and then printed off locations near the zip code of my destination for an easy drop off.
Pretty painless process, it was just the drive that sucked.
