Great owner, completely organic products, won’t try to sell you anything, and is passionate about helping people improve their look. I came in for a groupon and I was pleasantly surprised. She gave me some great advice too for how to keep my hair in good shape. I highly recommend Mitra.

The owner cannot do hair. She cannot do HIGHLIGHTS at all. She ruined my hair by making it yellow and oranged tone. I initially told her i wanted brown or caramel color.

she ruined my hair, I had to walk out the second I saw it. re-​did my hair as soon as I got home. I couldn’t stand my hair at all.
I never write reviews online but this experience is super horrible that I could not stand another person dealing with this.

I had a similar highlight experience with aqua salon as the other reviewer. First off the place and tools used in my hair were absolutely disgusting (see photos). Second, the groupon was supposed to be for full highlights and conditioning treatment. I guess getting conditioner in your hair after a shampoo is a ‘conditioning treatment.’ My hair was orange and stripy not to mention the half inch between my scalp and the start of the highlights and bleeding all over the place. About 10 foils in my whole head. The owner of the salon did my hair (!!!) and was busy talking on the phone to worry about if I liked my hair or not. I couldn’t see the color when I first left because it was wet but I could tell the cut was awful. When I told her I didn’t like it she got snippy with me and basically kicked me out. I still tipped her (for what reason I will never know) but groupon gave me my money back — it was that bad. I drove directly to another salon and my corrective color was $ 200 (46 foils in a partial-​yes I counted). Do not go to Aqua salon, save your self a headache. If I could give it less than one star I would. Update: I just got an email from Unilocal– my photos of the filth in this salon, and my orange stripes were deleted because they «weren’t representative of the business.» I’m pretty sure they are since there were previous reviews about other individuals bad experiences with highlights at aqua, and the whole place was filthy.
