Description

Specialties

At Rocky Creek Kennel I strive to provide you with quality pets. I’ve been raising Miniature Schnauzers for 16 years and I’ve been a breeder for 25 years. I also raise an occasional litter of mix breed Schnorkies and Frenglish puppies. My goal is to provide loving, healthy pets to loving pet homes. Come and see me, sit in the floor and play with the puppies until you find the puppy that is right for you or the puppy picks you. They’ll steal your heart. Schnauzers are very social dogs, loving members of the family. They don’t bark a lot but they will let you know if there’s an intruder. I have a lot of repeat customers and that is what gives me the confidence to guarantee my puppies. We are AKC inspected and County inspected.

History

Established in 1989.

I guess you could say I started breeding back when I was a child and there was a demand for gerbels I bought a breeding pair and sold the babies back to the pet shop for spending money. I got into serious dog breeding in 1989 when I purchased two female Labradors and two Shih Tzus, both breeds I love. In 1989 I was still breeding Shih Tzus when I found a reputable breeder to purchase two breeding female Miniature Schnauzers from. It’s hard to get started in dog breeding, breeders don’t want to give you the rights to breed so you can get started so although I always loved Schnauzers and owned them in the past I couldn’t find suitable breeding stock and someone to work with until 1998. All three breeds are wonderful dogs but the Miniature Schnauzer is my all time favorite and I wanted to concentrate on one breed and strive to make it the best I possible could.

Meet the Business Owner

Margaret O.

Business Owner

I’ve loved animals all my life and always had several pets, gerbels, dogs, cats. Then when I was 35 I got to fulfill my life long dream. I was divorced, my house had burned and I didn’t have a job. I took what monies I got from my insurance, got my mom to sign on the dotted line with me and bought a farm. 28 acres with two homes, one 130 years old the other 150 years. The place was badly in need of TLC and I’m still working to get it the way I want it. I’ve been able to have horses (love to ride), cows (jerseys that I raise little ones on), chickens for my own eggs and of course all my dogs and the barn cats. I have three grown children and six grandchildren. I’ve worked as a cashier, then discovering computers worked at a CPA firm as head of the computer department, then with a Copy Service doing computer design that was 16 years ago and now I can’t hardly get the thing turned on. I ran my own Day Care for 10 years in town and then here on the farm.
