History

Established in 2009.

The South Carolina K9 Academy was originally established in 1997 by a local K9 Officer. I apprenticed under this officer for a number of years and then in 2009 he moved out of state and I bought the South Carolina K9 Academy.

I re-engineered the company to focus on providing dog owners with the best possible dog training experience while also incorporating more behavior modification, as I saw a need for those owners out there who felt hopeless with their dog because it needed something more than just a obedience class.

I also put a huge emphasis on educating the dog owners and giving them the tools they need to be successful with their dogs. Over the last few years I have been holding low cost training seminars in the area to help dog owners and to show them that dog training is not a difficult, time consuming task and that their dog can learn regardless of age or history, quickly and easily.

Meet the Business Owner

Geoff E.

Business Owner

I have been training dogs professionally in Columbia, SC and the surrounding areas like Irmo, Lexington, and Camden for over 8 years. Before that I was an apprentice under a local K9 Officer for a number of years. I am a serious student of dog training and behavior and constantly work to improve my training, techniques and programs as well as finding the best way to motivate, encourage and coach dog owners.

But you know what I enjoy the most? When I have worked with a client who felt that both they and their dogs were a lost cause, only to see their confidence, skills and bond grow and come through the journey with a dog and a relationship, that they never thought was possible!
