Over the last year the service at the University location has been declining. We continued to dine because the food has always been awesome. I will never spend a single penny at Ruby Tequilas again after the way we where treated during our last visit. Even though my husbands beer arrived hot and our food cold we did not complain. The waitress was okay during the time of service. not great but not terrible either. The issue began when we received our tickets. There where 4 adults and two children under the age of 5 in our party. The children did not order, instead they shared a plate with their mother. Each of our tickets where charged an 18% automatic gratuity for the standing 6 party rule. When we asked the waitress about why the children where counted when they did not order she became extremely rude. After requesting the manager the situation became even worse. I have never been spoke to so unprofessionally by a supervisor in my life. I do not like confrontation so I asked to just pay our ticket so that we could leave. Even after backing down and attempting to leave the manager even yelled immature comments at us on our way out the door. Worst restaurant in Lubbock.

This has too be the worst service I have received from a restaurant in a long time. We were made to wait for a table despite there being about six empty tables in the main dining room as they were busy setting up their back patio room. Our party of two was seated out there and it was actually very chilly in there… even other guests were getting up and closing the sliding door to the outside patio that one waitress kept opening. A server brought us chips and salsa in a Styrofoam bowl and didn’t even speak to us. Our waiter arrived about five minutes later to take our drink order. About ten minutes later our drinks finally showed up and he took our food order and that was the last we saw of him. Our food finally arrived about forty minutes later by a different server and he just dropped off our food and left. Nobody came by to check on us; we had ran out of drinks and salsa even. We actually even had to flag down a waiter to get our check… needless to say… I will not return to this place to eat again.

I ordered the beef and chicken skewers appetizers. The chicken was completely rancid you could smell it as it came to the table. It was the absolute worst thing ever. I didn’t even check the beef. The waitress was kind enough to take it back and not charge me for it. She informed me that it was no longer going to be offered on the menu. The manager passed by our table about 10 times throughout the night and not once glanced our way to apologize. I asked the waitress about it and she too was confused that he hadn’t come by. Not once was I offered an apology. I cannot believe that spoiled chicken, that smelled so soooo rotten, made it from the grill, to the plate, and to my table. Nearby tables could smell that it was bad. Where is the health inspector when you need them? Will never eat here again. Worst restaurant experience ever. As a side note, nobody at our table was carded for our drinks(we’re all under 30).

We were from out of town and wanted to try something different and went here for lunch. Food was very good, very hot, staff was wonderful and a great drink selection. We will be returning next time we visit. It was very very good. I really liked the chicken!

Have been there several times from out of town. Always at a party in the Coach Knight room. Great place for a party! Plenty of space! Fireplace this time was really great on a chilly night. Service was fast, and on spot. Drinks were served quickly with chips, salsa, guacamole and queso. All were on spot, I found the queso a little runny. Dinner for the party was fajita’s beef and chicken, both tender and tasty. Refried beans tasted good, and rice was good Spanish rice(we had ordered papas, but that didn’t happen. Salsa was very tasty, the chips on point. The party got really quiet, a good sign when we started to eat! Those who had Margaritas said they on point and satisfying. Staff stayed in gaged and made sure everything was satisfactory. We’ll be back!

The food was excellent, I love the tortilla soup. The soup and salad combo is very affordable. Our server, Luke, was fantastic. I always have great service and there are many choices on the menu that are excellently prepared. Kudos to Andrew and the staff for a great lunch experience.

Food is usually pretty good. But the wait staff are a bunch of knobs. They stand around and look confused and then take for ever to bring drink refills, and the ticket.

Happened to be driving by and looked like fun on a Wednesday night. I can’t rate the service as we were really low maintenance when we were there. Food was good and their happy hour was good priced. It was nice to sit outside and live music was a great idea even though I wasn’t a fan of the musicians. I’d def return.

Great Tex-Mex food. Sometimes a bit overcrowded, then you have to wait at the bar. The salsa is the best I know, same goes for the chips. Yummi! I tried several dishes here, enchiladas, fajitas, burritos, taco salad so far there was nothing to complain about! Great place if you like real Tex-Mex food!
