History

Established in 1987.

MGM Electronics opened its doors in Lubbock, Texas in 1987 and changed how Mobile Electronics was done on the South Plains forever. Originally a repair shop for electronics, it didn’t take long for owner Joe Menaldi to see that many people came in for repairs or just looking for a new head unit for their vehicles.

What started as simply carrying head units for those in need would eventually become the most solidified Mobile Electronics company in the area. MGM Electronics stood apart from other shops, not only because of the great products, but because of the quality and service that was provided. MGM’s exceptional service led to the need for a second location, and in a town the size of Lubbock that’s an impressive feat. In 2001 Owner Joe Menaldi decided to sell both locations to pursue other business venues he had been interested in for some time. MGM Electronics still provides superb mobile electronics solutions to this day under new ownership.

MGM Electronics is under new ownership as of October 2013. Judy Joplin is our savvy business owner, and she’s helped at each location by managers Steven and Chad. The MGM Electronics name goes back years, and Judy and her team have helped keep that name associated with excellence, quality, and friendliness. We are proud to have two excellent mobile electronics shops in Lubbock to serve you. We love what we do, and look forward to helping you soon.
