I got the gyro which was really good! But it came with a side of nacho chips and a pickle which was… different lol not really Mediterranean. It’s not the BEST Mediterranean food I’ve ever had but it does the trick. The hummus was mediocre… nothing special there. I definitely wouldn’t get it again honestly. The Tuesday special was a kafta which wasn’t that good. There was only one small kabob in it and way too much lettuce. Overall, it was pretty average. Obviously looking at the reviews the gyro is a big hit so if you’re going, I’d recommend that!

Had the gyros and they were delicious! So were the homemade desserts especially the baklava! I will definitely be back. The owners were very friendly as well.

In love with this place now. You walk in and you feel like you’re in the Mediterranean. They have a little shop area. The owner guy was nice and quick with my order that I had placed for pick up. Feel like it’s pretty decent Greek food. Especially for Lubbock. My food was a little messy in my box but that was completely my fault as my bag went flying when I turned a corner driving home. The mezza plate is to be eaten together anyway so it didn’t really matter.

This place is great! I got the falafel and my fiancé got the gyro. The falafel was awesome and I got so full, lol. My fiancé said the gyro was really good as well. We also got the baba ghanoush as a starter, and that was so good. It was so full of flavour. We left with happy bellies!

Best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had. The owner and workers were also very nice as well. I ordered the gyro dinner, which had a good portion of lamb, salad, and bread. The meat was also very tender and tasty! I highly recommend saving room for dessert. The pecan baklava was the perfect finish to a very satisfing dinner. Will be returning very soon!

Full Disclosure: It was only recently that I was disabused of the notion that Gyro was pronounced with a hard G, as in West Texas pronounced«Geee-ro» and is in fact pronounced«hero.» Thus, the following review is obviously from a self-described amatuer and as a result I present no pretensions of being able to compare against Greek cuisine offered globally. That being said, so-called experts brought us to the brink of economic destruction with the Great Depression, the Great Recession, and failed to detect or act upon the problems with the levees in New Orleans leading up to Katrina. Sometimes, it is best to take advice from a novice. This unassuming Mediterranean(the business label seems to indicate Greek, but the Lebanese flags adorning the walls seems to indicate the owning family hails from a different Club Med locale) place on 50th street is something that I one would expect to stumble into in the crowded streets of NYC and with the tremendous and authentic feel and flavors that I suspect would allow them to prosper there if the owners were so inclined. In my inaugural trip to Lite Bite, I partook of the Gyro Supreme(correctly pronounced), and I was very pleasantly surprised to discover the taste implosion that lamb, pita, lettuce, and onions could deliver. The critical element in such a culinary experience seems to often come down to the spices and or sauces that one employs. In this case, the yogurt sauce ties this all together amazingly well. Part of me thinks that in a place like Lubbock, the«Lite Bite» moniker may do this place a disservice and indicate to the typical passer-by that lite is synonymous with lack of flavor. The beauty of the meal I had here is that it had just as much vibrant flavor as many a calorie and saturated laden meal that I have ever had, and this is coming from as big of a consumer of barbeque, pizza and hamburgers as anyone in this fair land. The one area I think they could improve upon is a wider range of offerings of sides that are tied to the sandwiches as combo meals. The Gyro came with an underwhelming complement of circle tortilla chips. Why not offer pita chips and hummus or some other authentic theme along with the gyro? Even if it cost another $ 2 I would pony up to have a bit of a larger portion and to deliver more taste diversity.

Have been coming here since 2006 and it still has the same great menu, wonderful service, and outstanding food. Even after moving to Dallas, my wife and I still fly into Lubbock and make a point to stop and get a gyro supreme and some baklava. Great once again, see you next time.

This is a lubbock staple! It is such a fun unique place to go. They have a back area where they sell rugs and relics. It is family owned and run. On Fridays they have chicken swarma on a gyro with fries inside!

We’re new to Lubbock and so far haven’t found too many restaurants that we really like. We happened to be in the area and needed to pick up some lunch. I found this place nearby through Unilocal and it had several really good reviews so we gave it a whirl. The Gyros were perfect, the meat was flavorful, veggies were crisp and fresh, and the pita bread was so good it could have been eaten all by itself. We will definitely be going back again and again!

Ok, all should know I have never written a review but Lubbockites should know the existence of this great Mediterranean treat. I HAVEBEENTOGREECE. So for all those needing a real Greek meal, this is fresh, AUTHENTIC Greek food and the owner of the joint is INCREDIBLYNICE and accommodating. Whoever said this wasn’t authentic clearly has no idea what authentic Greek food is. It’s simple, and this place has got it. SOGETOFFYOURCOUCHANDGIVETHEMSOMEBUSINESS!!!

I absolutely love Lite Bite. The supreme lamb gyro melts in your mouth. The grape leaves are to die for(one of my favorite foods in the world!). The supreme gyro consists of warm and soft pita bread, Greek yogurt sauce, tomato, onion and your choice of meat(I always choose lamb for any mediterranean meal). The lamb is a big serving and is so yummy and tender it just melts in your mouth. My husband and son loved it here too! The owner is a very sweet man. Great to have a conversation with. The staff were sweet too. This is my new place to go for lunch. The only, and I mean ONLY negative thing I have to say is that the ceiling fans were very, very dirty. Everything else was clean; plates, silverware, tables, floor. Just needs a little tidying. I still give the food five stars. Cleanliness probably a three/four. Only because of the ceiling fans though.

Tried this place for lunch. Got salads, the gyro and the sampler platter. The food is overpriced(sampler platter, $ 10) and we did not enjoy anything we purchased. The salads were soggy and bitter, the baba and hummus tasted only of garlic(and the hummus had a sour taste — like sour cream or cream cheese), the pita was stale, the grapeleaves were from a jar, the tabbouli was soggy and the falaffel were dry and tasteless. The gyro tasted mostly of feta. Overall, the flavors were not balanced and i didn’t enjoy the experience.

I’ve been here twice and ordered the deluxe gyro both times. I was disappointed because it didn’t have a yogurt sauce but it was still pretty good. They are generious with the meat and the pita is soft and warm. It also comes with a side of tortilla chip. The atmosphere is unique. They have a little store in the back where they sell all types of things. The service is fast but not friendly. The best thing about Lite Bite is their hours. They have consistent hours unlike many places in lubbock. I go here when manara is closed. Parking is plentiful. All in all, I would recommend it!

I went there because I was nearby and I miss my German Gyros, so I gave it a try. The Gyro is almost as good as in the Turkish places in German. I am not sure what they sell in NY but this place here is worth four stars no matter what people before me said. I wish I would have come by a couple of years ago, as I like this stuff, and this here is a quite great place.

Fine gyros, but to be honest, I have never really had a bad one in my life from any gyro shack!!! I eat here about once every 2 months and pick up a big stack of their refrigerated pita bread every 3 weeks to toast and home and eat with hummus. Good baklava, wish there were more large-scale Greek items on their menu like spanikopita and moussaka and pasticio. It is fine for sandwiches, though. I don’t know what it is about Lubbock restaurants that sometimes try and go the«health route» with no fries on the side, like this place and Bless Your Heart. A sandwich needs fries or a good chip, and tortilla rounds(?) just don’t go well with gyros. That is my main qualm with this place. But I always come back for the gyros and pita. Cute little store in the back selling lots of Greek and Turkish treasures, spices, jams, sauces, and ready-made items for you to pick up and heat at your own house. I am always the only customer in the shop when I order, though??? Not sure why – all my friends eat here pretty regularly.
