Well I won’t be going back to this establishment. I was quoted a price over the phone the night before we took the car in, and when my wife took the car in the next morning, they promptly charged her $ 100 more than they had quoted me the night before. My wife showed them the quoted price and she was just told it was a charge for warranty, she was never was given the option to decline or told the warranty was optional. In my opinion, and after reading the other reviews, it is clear that this establishment is not run very well. Also the fact that they tried to overcharge my wife, maybe because she was a woman, is disturbing and should be a warning to others that do business here. With all that being said, I gave them two stars because the service was fast and the product seems pretty good so far. 06⁄03: absolutely no follow up from this company after several weeks. It is amazing they care so little about their customers. Even the burger joint where I found a price of plastic in my burger had the district manager call me. I filed a formal complaint online with Discount Tire and I was told it was being sent to the district manager. What a bunch of smoke, absolutely no follow up to a matter that basically involves treating women differently. Shocking. Reducing to 1 star.

Life threateningly awful. I travel frequently and my family is very loyal to the Discount Tires chain. We have been loyal for over 20 years. I trusted this DT because of one of their managers a few years ago really helped me and took care of my old car. I continued to be loyal to this store even though it was out of my way because he was very helpful. I don’t think he works there anymore because every time I’ve gone, they’ve given me terrible service. I noticed my tires needed to be changed about 2 years ago. I went to Discount Tires and was told that the tires that my parents bought for my car were the incorrect size, so I asked for them to give me the correct size for my car and also give me brand new top of the line tires. As previously stated, I travel often and I need the best tires because I consider it part of the investment for my car keeping me safe. The beginning of the problems started when I had a flat tire. I immediately took it to this DT after making an appointment for early in the morning and(both in the appointment and in person) told them to fix my flat, rotate, and balance my tires. I usually get a call back once they are done, but I didn’t get a call for almost 5 hours. I called and they said«oh yeah. Your car is ready.» When I picked it up, I looked in my car and they just chucked the spare into my trunk instead of putting it back where it belonged. This had never happened with any other DT store I’ve been to, so I asked if they had rotated and balanced my tires and they said, «yes, we did.» Being that I have trusted this company for years, I expected them to do their job. I took my car to them later on and received the same treatment. A person hit the rear bumper of my car and so I had to get my car fixed. I took it by my trusted dealership to make sure everything was properly done and taken care of. They said that my car tires were the wrong size for my car, improperly installed, and overinflated. The front two tires were very worn and the tires due to lack of maintenance were in bad condition. This caused damage to part of my engine. What should’ve been a simple affordable double check turned into a $ 2000 surprise expense. Thank you for being so frivolous with your job employees of 82nd street DT. I’m glad you value wasting my time and money.

Apparently, not all Discount Tire stores are created equal. The one on Slide has always been terrific with honest, good employees. However, i feel that I was lied to when I went into this store this morning. I went in and told them that I had a nail in my tire, and walked out with the manager(i think he was the manager) and pointed to the nail that was in the tread(NOT the sidewall) of the tire. They pulled it in, and a few minutes later a guy came and told me that I «got one in the sidewall,» and that it was«not serviceable.» Thinking it odd and unlikely that I had two objects in the same tire that was leaking slowly, I told him to put the spare on it and I would come back and buy a new tire later. He tried to talk me out of that saying that I was already there and bla bla bla. I told him no, assured him that I bought all of my tires there anyway, and to put the spare on. A few minutes later, they pulled my car out and another guy told me «hey we found a used tire that was in far better shape than your old one and just went ahead and put that one on for you — free of charge!» Well! That was nice of them, huh?! When I asked him where my old one was, I was told it had already been disposed of. What the *$%# ever… I think it pretty unlikely that they stay in business by giving tires away. I think it’s pretty obvious that someone decided I was stupid enough to take his word for it and would just shell out the cash for a new tire when I didn’t need one — even though I showed them the object in the tire to begin with. Give me a break, guys. Not everybody that wears a dress coat is looking for an opportunity to throw money at you. Pretty disappointed. I’ve always considered Discount Tire to be one of the few remaining businesses that operated with extraordinary integrity.

They’ve stepped up their service. Employees are friendly, but also trained salesmen, which can be to a consumers benefit as well.

I received very courteous service. They were very busy and still took only 30 minutes when they warned me it might an hour. I use Discount Tire everywhere I travel and have very satisfied.
