This place only gets a low review because they are no longer in business. If and when they reopen I will give it a new review at that time.

This neighborhood restaurant in South Lowell serves up pretty good food for breakfast and lunch, open daily 6AM-2PM. The atmosphere inside is pretty homey and cozy with lunch counter stool seating, booth seating along the walls and windows and a big table(seating for up to 12 people) in the center of the room. The walls are yellow color with framed photos of Greece landmarks. The menu offerings include the standard breakfast fare including eggs, omelets, pancakes, French toast, Belgian waffles, home fries & deep fries, and sides. For lunch, sandwiches, grinders, burgers, hot dogs, gyros, fish & chips, salads, soups, and fries are offered. Pepsi products(cans) and Boston’s Best Coffee served here. The prices here are pretty reasonable, most items priced $ 5 – 9 range. I stopped in at Maria’s Restaurant around noonish on a rainy Saturday. The place was fairly busy with a waitress running the dining room solo. I was offered a drink about a couple minutes after sitting down. The coffee($ 1.50) was brewed just right, not too strong. Both breakfast and lunch menus were being served, not just one or the other like at many other places. I was going to order the 3 Egg Greek Omelet, but then I decided to order lunch food. I ordered the Gyros Plate($ 7.75) served with fries and salad. The food was served to me in about 10 minutes, The fries were fried golden and perfect with the right amount of crispiness outside and hot and soft inside. The fries were not salted, which I really appreciated. The salad with a mix of iceberg, tomatoes, carrots and green peppers in a tangy Greek dressing. The gyros wrapped in a warm soft flatbread, had tender gyro meat(a bit dry) with tomatoes, lettuce, and onions in a zesty and cool yogurt sauce. Overall, I really liked this choice. The friendly waitress was doing a great job taking care of all tables and I was offered refills on the coffee often, I had around 3 cups in all, so I was pretty golden for the rest of the day. Overall, a good tasting lunch at just under $ 10 with tax and before tip. I need to return here for breakfast. CASHONLY PARKING: Parking lot for Maria’s customers located across the street
