Description

Specialties

Our office, as well as The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a «Dental Home» for your child by one year of age. Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care. The Dental Home is intended to provide a place other

than the Emergency Room for parents. You can make the first visit to the dentist enjoyable and positive. If old enough, your child should be informed of the visit and told that the dentist and their staff will explain all procedures and answer any questions. The less to-do concerning the visit, the better.

Business Owner

Dr. Lou Gerken was born in Omaha, Nebraska and raised in Denver, Colorado. He is the third oldest child in a family of eleven! After completing undergraduate and dental school at Creighton University (Omaha, Nebraska), he served two years as a Captain in the United States Army offering dental care to soldiers and their families at the Fort Riley base in Kansas. He then obtained his advanced specialty pediatric training at The University of Nebraska Medical Center. After residency in 1979, he and his wife, Becky, moved to Loveland, where they established his practice and raised their three daughters. Dr. Gerken is pleased to call the Sweetheart City his home. In 2009, he celebrated his 30th anniversary of practicing as a pediatric dentist in Loveland.
