Advanced Foot & Ankle Care

Dr. Schultz is so nice, professional, and calming. After years of foot issues with a tailors bunion, he did operate on my foot (after trying other methods). I was extremely nervous about the whole procedure, but it went very well and I had zero problems. I’m 4 days out from surgery with still no discomfort! His nursing staff is also very helpful and nice. I came to Unilocal,as I was new to the area and needed a podiatrist and saw his review. If you search his name directly, he has a couple of 5 star reviews. I thought I would leave one on here to give my experience. He is fantastic! Go to him with your foot troubles :) he helped me a ton!

My 12yr old daughter recently had an ingrown toenail permanently removed by Dr Schwartz which went well and we are both pleased with the work. My issues are not with his technique or the MA’s that help you during the procedure. My issue is with the front office staff and the physician himself. I felt that Dr Schwartz was rather curt during our visit… his chairside manner absolutely stinks! He is just very matter of fact to the point of non-​caring about his patient. Then we went in for a 1 week post-​op check while my older daughter was waiting in the reception area. Dr Schwartz came storming out of his office & up to the front desk Yelling & Cursing at the front office staff about some scheduling dispute. Nice! Professional too don’t you think? WOW!
We have decent insurance but it doesn’t tell us what a copay amount would be for procedures. Initially, the front office girl told me to wait for insurance to pay their amount before she’d collect my copay. So after the 2^nd check up, I asked her what I owed. The insurance had not paid their portion yet, but I knew I’d owe at least $ 100– so I paid that right that day. She said her biller would send me a statement after insurance paid their part if there was anything else owed. Not even a week later while we were in the office for my daughters 3^rd post-​op check, the front office girl tells me what the balance was & that I needed to pay it that day or get a $ 10– added charge once the statement is sent out. WHAT? I paid $ 100– 5 days prior… Before the insurance had even paid… it’s not like we were behind, or anything & she still threatened to charge me $ 10– extra if they had to send out a statement? I told her then & there that if I got charged additional fees when I had Just paid ²⁄₃ of our portion before it was even asked for… I’d be PO’d! She continued to push and gave me no choice but to sign a form giving my credit card info so she could bill it at a future date.
I am just so UNIMPRESSED with the way they do business. I work in the medical profession & have my entire working life. I get that there are people who see Doctors to get out of pain & then never pay their bill… I totally get that… but the way she handled this… on top of the way Dr Schwartz treated his staff… lets just say I will Not be back & will let everyone know the reason why.
