Young Dentistry For Children

I have had nothing but bad experiences here. From the unhelpful and grumpy front desk staff to the stiff and unfriendly hygienists. All 3 of my kids did not like their teeth cleaning. The hygienists barely talked to them and didn’t really do much to make them comfortable. Then we had to come back for fillings and again the assistants acted like we weren’t even there not talking to me or my child. Did no explaining or anything to keep her comfortable. Dr. Campbell was the only one who talked and tried to help her through it, but she was in having a lot pain and discomfort through out the treatment and when she started crying, he actually tried to blame ME for her anxiety saying she had had too many dental treatments and that’s why she was anxious. Complete BS, she has unfortunately had a lot of dental work, but our previous dentist and office (in another state) were so excellent she actually looked forward to going. Her poor mouth was so sore and swollen by the time they finished, she spent much of day crying and talking about how horrible and uncomfortable the whole experience was for her. They also didn’t finish all her fillings because he was in a hurry to move on to the next patient. So after numbing her ENTIRE mouth she will have go back and get it done again to finish the others. We were delayed getting started because of the nasty front desk women who got all made at me when I told her we changed insurance which then meant she had to redo our claim. WOW, a truly horrible experience all around. Will NEVER return there.

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Belinda Campbell or the staff at Young Dentistry for Children. I have 3 kids, ages 6, 4 and 2, and we have been going there for almost 2 years. Every single experience has been over-​the-​top positive. They are SO good with kids, from the hygienists to the front office staff to Dr. Campbell. They have lots of special «tricks», tools and ways to explain things to kids and make it feel comfortable, not-​scary and even fun for them! They recently got my 2 year-​old to cooperate for a cleaning when he was going nuts and I thought there was NO way! They are very patient, understanding and kind.
Today my 4 year-​old had her first cavity filled. I was SO nervous but it was such a good experience my daughter has literally asked when she can do it again (seriously)! Dr. Campbell was so gentle and entertaining, keeping a running dialogue going the whole time about the «princess painting» she was getting, that she never even realized her tooth had been drilled and filled! I can’t imagine a better dentist for kids than Dr. Campbell and I’m so grateful we’ve found her!

I have been going to Young Dentistry for Children for approximately 14 years. This place is terrific. They handled an emergency like true professionals when my daughters tongue had a large cut in it that could have required stitches. I was given the option to get stitches or let it heal. Not wanting to face that decision I asked the Dr. what he would do if it were his kid. Without hesitation, he said he would avoid the stitches as the heal time would have been just as long, but my child wouldn’t have to endure the stress and discomfort of having the shot as well as the stitches. I was relieved, and grateful. They are able to handle the biggest of babies in terms of kids not wanting to see the Dr. or Dentist. I have one child that is deathly afraid of needles. When she needed a filling, I was prepared for the worst. It never happened. In fact she didn’t even know she had received a shot. Now that’s skill! Absolutely recommend this office without hesitation. Dr. Kim Kretsch is absolutely the best, but honestly I don’t believe you can go wrong with anyone in this group.

I completely agree with Liz R. The place is beautiful, lots of goodies for the kiddies but they are pricey.
