The food was good and quick to come out. The staff was really friendly and sociable. Had a great atmosphere to come and watch a game while waiting.

Great place to hang out before a flight! My friend is a big fan of Woodford Reserve bourbon & was very happy with her Old Fashioned. The two of us ordered a fish sandwich & mine was absolutely delicious! Shane, our bartender/server was a great sport & was happy to provide lots of extra lemons for my friend! The waffle fries were so addicting, I had to force myself to stop eating them all! I also loved the Cabernet Sauvignon glass I decided on. Thanks Shane!

My husband and I stopped by to have a drink while waiting on our daughter to come in on a flight. There were four other people in the whole place. It was around 10:00 pm. I was denied service because I was not carrying my id. My husband tried to order the drink for me with his id and was denied. Okay I’m 57(and look it) but if that is their policy fine. The bartender proceeded to lecture me on carrying my id. We left. I was going to ask to see a menu but it wasn’t worth the pain.

Looks good but isn’t. Slow, uncaring service and low end food for high end pricing. The bourbon is good but getting it will be a test of patience

This place looked cool but that was about it. The service was VERY slow and apathetic. The food is just average. My waitress didn’t want to be there, and the bartender would leave the bar for 10 minutes at a time. The hostess was on her cell phone the whole time. If properly run, this restaurant could be great. The Woodford people should be a little embarrassed to have their name on this.

This place has an upscale atmosphere yes, but everything else is horrible. This airport is slim pickings on everything so I went to the most diversified non fast-food menu and ate two meal here after being stuck in the airport for 9 hours. I sat down as self seating was indicated in the morning and it took forever to get waited on. I figured it was morning it things weren’t all up and running so I cut them some slack. Next I went back for lunch, could not understand the accent on the waiter, service was still slow and a bit rude. The food was decent in the long run. Here is the kicker: The only place I used my debit card on this trip was on the way home in the airport, when I got to my connecting flight in Las Vegas I had a call from my bank about credit card fraud and had about $ 87 left in my account, everything was wiped out. I would give a –10 stars if I could.

Poor service. Waitress was barely there. Brought the entrée before soup and salad and had to be flagged down because she tossed the entrée on the table and was gone. Once prompted she walked off to take a couple of other orders rather than actually addressing the missing items. Bland food with sad presentation. The restaurant appears to be upscale with pricing to match. The food looks and tastes like hospital cafeteria fare. Stick to the booze. Eat at KFC around the corner.

Totally agree that this has an upscale atmosphere but that’s where the good things end. The food was ok. I had strawberry salad with salmon added. The kitchen lost my ticket so I was there for bet an hour. Thankfully I had some time before my flight. When presented with the check they didn’t offer to comp me anything or even offer a free dessert. I had to point this out and they took off my tea and salmon that was added to the salad.

This place sucks. Sit forever waiting to order. Heard a waiter and waitress argue over who’s table we were. Don’t know about food yet because I don’t have it. Stay away.

Although this restaraunt boasts an upscale feel from the exterior, the food is not up to par, at least their burgers and onion rings sure aren’t. Sure the hamburger patty was cooked medium-well as I requested, but it’s texture suggested it was previously frozen. I ordered the pepperjack salsa burger thinking I’d get something of higher quality than the Burger King next door, I was mistaken. The dipping salsa this burger utilized was unmistakably store-bought and should be kept in the jar it comes in a party on a strict budget. Woodford did not even bother to buy the correct salsa for this type of burger, which calls for a pico variation. I found the frozen onion rings weren’t even the good type of frozen onion rings. If I were to buy a burger in this area in the future, I’d stick with BK.

I got to the airport quite a while before my flight the other day, so I decided to stay this side of security and get a hot meal. Even though I got there about 10 after 10, the waitress said they could still do breakfast, which I really appreciated. Although it wasn’t the best meal of my life, my eggs were cooked perfectly(over medium) and the pancakes were decent. I agree with some of what’s been said, in that the pancakes didn’t seem to have just been poured in a griddle, but I still enjoyed them, pre-prepared or not. I also got the fruit side, and my cantaloupe and honeydew were pretty good and mostly ripe. The best part of the meal, though, was definitely the coffee. It was very rich, not bitter at all, which meant I could drink it black like I prefer. My waitress was pleasant and attentive throughout. All in all, a good morning spot when there are so few choices.

The Bourbon glazed chicken sandwich with cut fries was surprisingly delish! The atmosphere made you feel like you weren’t at an airport at all! Great bar menu and food choices!

Waffling between 2 and 3 stars Pros: — probably the best place for food in Louisville airport(that is not saying much) — decent selection of brews and spirits — a variety of food — will have something for most people — a few healthy options on the menu Cons: — mediocre food — slow service — prices, while not horrible for an airport eatery, are noticeably higher than decent places in the Louisville area — annoying bartenders and waitstaff It is outside security. This is really neither a pro or con — yes you have to stumble through security after a couple Manhattens, but the lines at SDF are usually very slow(plus I get Pre-Check so I breeze through). I was leaning on 3 mainly because there is no other decent place to eat(KFC, Chilis). but just couldn’t do it. Notes on my experience — I sat that the bar, no waiting for a table. I decided on beer(Goose Island) and a Salmon Caesar salad with dressing on the side. At least they called it a Caesar Salad — it was just a big bowl of lettuce with a decent sized hunk of Salmon on top and a smattering of parm cheese. No croutons, no pepper, etc. I had to ask twice for the croutons and pepper for my salad — the initial response was«hmmm, no one asks for those.» huh? The bartender talked non-stop and offered much unsolicited advice. The part next two me(two attractive girls in early 20’s and a guy) received most of his attention. They were flying off to Vegas so he kept telling them how to gamble. His advice on Blackjack would be hilarious if it weren’t that these poor souls were listening to him and were going to lose their money by following his advice. He kept setting up scenarios and then saying things like«since you know the next card will be a face card …» If you KNOW what the next card is, then why are you working as a bartender at an airport bar? When I politely tried to point out the fallacy in his advice(you can’t know for sure the next card is a face card, no matter how good you are at card counting), he argued with me that he didn’t say it, looked at the other three and rolled his eyes, then told them«if you follow what I said, you can be pretty sure the next card is likely a face card.» Well, «pretty sure» and«likely» are a far cry from«know». I sure hope they didn’t follow his advice.

Great place to come and blow money on several airport priced brews and chat with the bartender while waiting for your husband’s 5-hour delayed flight… just beware of your bill after 5 hours!!! And make sure the husband drives home!

I’ve stopped here on a few trips and have been disappointed with pretty much everything I’ve ordered, and have experienced the same service as many of the other Unilocalers. Last couple of visits, we had a server that we had to track down to pay up. At the airport, the customers are generally on a sensitive schedule, and I’m surprised with all of the hands on deck that the attention isn’t better paid to that need. Unfortunately, the location is pretty optimal, located just a few strides from the entry to security, so it makes sense to pass the time here. If you’re not that hungry, save your money and stick with the bourbon. Just be sure to be clear if you ask for it neat…

I understand that crappy airport food is crappy airport food, but I admit I expected something a step up when they’ve got Woodford Reserve as part of the name. Sadly, this was more of an Old Crow experience. I had just arrived in Louisville and my friends’ flight arrived about an hour later, so I decided to grab a bite to eat before we hit the Bourbon Trail. It was about 9:45am but the breakfast menu didn’t look too appetizing. Unfortunately, they didn’t have soup ready so I asked if I could just get a few scrambled eggs since I didn’t want a whole bacon-toast-omelette bonanza. My super friendly waitress was happy to oblige. The wait for a few scrambled eggs was inordinately long, especially since I’m almost positive they were of the powdered variety. And no, they were not tasty, but maybe that’s to expect from plain scrambled eggs at an airport joint. And, in typical airport fashion, it was painfully overpriced. One tiny cup of hot tea + eggs + tip added up to nearly $ 10. Woodford Reserve prices, indeed.

2 ½ Stars(Rounded Up) Met up w/a few friends that wanted to eat before their long flights back home, but I wasn’t hungry so I just got a drink(ok, two drinks). The Woodford Reserve on ice was decent(I prefer Maker’s), but at $ 9.99 for a single, I expected either impressive Bourbon, or a lot more than an exact 4-count pour! The tiny glass it came out in, filled w/ice might trick some people… but I noticed the stingy serving… Our Bulgarian waitress was cool, but I did have to remind her to bring me that glass of water I asked for earlier.

Quite possibly one of the worst airport meals of my life. And, believe me, I’ve had many terrible airport meals. Let’s start with the positive — this restaurant looks lovely and relaxing. And, it is charmingly placed OUTSIDE of security, so, if need by, travelers can wait for a flight with their local hosts. A very nice plus. Now, down to business. I dined by myself on a slow evening at this restaurant. It took the server 15 minutes to bring me a glass of water. When she brought me my wine, the wine glass had just been taken from the«cleaning system» at the bar and literally had a pool of water in the bottom of the glass. I asked for a dry glass, and she seemed a bit put out. II don’t eat meat. Nary an item on the menu was meatless, but I asked for them to make one of their pasta dishes and omit the chicken breast. Not a problem. Came with a side salad and a side of steamed vegetables. Forty minutes later, out comes my «salad» — about 3 leaves of romaine with about ¼ c of dressing. The side dish of vegetables included some I couldn’t recognize, and therefore didn’t eat. My green beans were wrinkled beyond recognition and had been re-heated multiple times. Another 20 minutes later, out comes my pasta, topped with canned red sauce. Served to me – at room temperature. A terrible, terrible dining experience. Incompetent wait staff. Lazy and unoriginal dishes that were very poorly prepared. And, at typical airport price to boot. Skip the attractiveness of this place and go to the fast food joints. Even those have to be just a little bit better.
