This store is the bomb, and here is why: *credit card with NOINTERESTFORLIFE(provided that you make minimum payment) *nicest, most sanitary bathrooms I have ever seen in a store *amazing customer service *friendly, courteous staff *the Chanel counter staff is friendly, knowledgable and beyond helpful! *free gift wrapping year round! I took off a star only because there is some room for improvement where plus size women’s clothing is concerned. I’m in between misses and plus right now — so I go from finding cute clothes that are too smug, or the plus section has clothes that are nice … But a little too mature for me.

This is one of my favorite places to shop! The customer service is fabulous. Von Maur has my favorite brands and always has new and exciting merchandise. It’s a classic southern store and best of all the prices prevent a bunch of loud teenagers and others.

This review is only for the customer service or lack thereof in the Men’s and kids shoe department. For a combined department it is extremely understaffed. Avoid this department like the plague on the weekends because you will be waiting forever for anyone to acknowledge you. The department manager is a complete moron and has no sense of fashion and a complete lack of product knowledge.

This place is not my kind of department store. Definitely not Barneys, Harrods, or Macy’s. Just because price tag has a higher mark up does not constitute high end. Especially the men’s section screams«Country.» Sorry, haven’t found any good mall/department store in Kentucky or Indiana.

I walked in and asked for help buying clothes from a woman working there. An hour or so later I walked out with some clothes. They seem nice and I was told they look good.

Absolutely ADORE this store. I had never known about this store until I moved to Louisville, I primarily shop at Von Maur now. I read some of the reviews stating the staff was rude-the reviewer must have been the rude person or insecure because the staff at Von Maur makes everyone feel welcomed and like royalty. You will never go more than 10 steps without someone asking if you need help or sizes or what are you looking for. You will need to be willing to spend some money here, but I expect that when you have a store with such high quality brands. Their shoe department is fabulous! They even have a room dedicated to clearance shoes and it is arranged by size-makes it very easy to shop. They carry most shoes brands: Michael Kors, Frye, Jessica Simpson… all the ones you would expect that I cannot seem to think of right now. Their clothes are arranged by brand so if you love Tommy Bahama, they have all his clothes together. All regular priced clothes are on square shaped racks and all clearance clothes for that particular brand will be on round type racks. So easy-even for people who hate to shop they make it so simple. Now let’s get to the important department-WOMEN’S! It is located on the 2nd floor and the entire floor is dedicated to women/junior women/plus size women. It is a wonderful floor, as you get off the escalator you hear the«Ahhhhhhh» of the pearly gates opening :) They have an ample amount of fitting rooms with mirrors in every room and then a large showcase mirror like you would find in a wedding store so you can see every angle. They also have lounge chairs for people to sit and watch you work your magic down the«runway» The racks and areas are set up the same as the male selection on the 1st floor. You are able to return items a year later if the tag is still on it and you have the receipt, another great bonus. The first floor houses shoes, make-up, perfume, kid’s clothes, men’s clothes and I believe jewelry. As you walk in the first floor entrance you hear a piano playing on most days, the cutest senior lady is playing-yes they have an actual lady playing the piano while you shop. Just a fantastic, well-bred, top notch store. If you do not go and you live here in Louisville you are missing out! What are you waiting for? GOALREADY!

I/We are fans of Von Maur for a couple of reasons… But the main reason I give it 4 stars is there credit card! It is a No Interest Credit Card!!! Now there is a limited amount you can charge… they never charge any interest!!! The service is always very nice and friendly and always willing to go the extra mile! Will order anything if they do not have it in store and calls when it arrives. You will find me here… UnilocalING…LOL

This IS as good as it gets! The service is wonderful, the store is gorgeous, the prices are reasonable and the gift wrapping and free shipping are a bonus! I shop Von Maur every chance I get when I go to Louisville KY or Glenview IL. I live in San Antonio TX and wish we had a store that compares to Von Maur. Their #1 priority is customer service(this is quite obvious) In the gift dept. in Louisville Ky, Rhonda takes great care to call me if something comes in that she knows I will like. She is such a wonderful person an an asset to the staff. I also love their stores because they are not crammed full of items when you walk down the aisles(like Macy’s or Dillards)

Rudest customer service I’ve ever seen in the women’s shoes department. I went in there to see Sam Edelman shoes. They didn’t have very many selections so I was trying on some ugg boots. The lady seemed nice at first. She asked me if I wanted to try in a new pair of the boots for purchase. I said«I’ll think about it,» then she bolted away. On top of all that, whenever she saw me around the area, she would just turn around and pretend to not see me. And whisper things to the other employee. I will never buy anything from Von Maur again. Too bad, because I love to buy shoes. So don’t bother coming to this store unless you’re intended to buy something. Or else these workers will give you a cold shoulder as if you’re not a good enough customer.

This deparment store has a decent selection of merchandise but it is just way overpriced. The attitudes of customers scream«I’M BETTERTHANYOU». So why bother checking it out? You might find a sale that makes the merchandise affordable.

I’m all about snagging a steal, and this is a place where I can make it happen! I definitely admire a lot of the items here, but they’re also more than outside of my budget. I still frequent Von Maur however, because there’s always a chance I’ll stumble upon the type of sale that makes my day — better yet week! My favorite part about Von Maur is the shoe sale closet. It’s a little cove in the store that you can go in and have a ball looking for that perfect pair of heels at the perfect price. Sometimes it can be pretty messy, but that’s what happens when you have $ 250 at more than half off and women in a frenzy trying to find them! If you’re a lover a fashion like me, and don’t mind looking through lots of high-priced labels just to find that one dress that fits your budget and style, you’ll probably like this store as well. And if budget isn’t an issue you can just dig in and enjoy the goodies, no holds barred!

Mainly women’s shopping. Lots of old(60+) women shopping. They have a decent selection of men’s shoes as well, but it’s not the place for me.

The best customer service around! They never advertise a sale, but the sales racks have some great buys. No charge for hemming womens clothing and a nominal charge for other alterations. If this store doesn’t have the item you want in your size, they will bring it in from another store. And the brands they carry are really not that exclusive – eileen fisher, nie and zoe, pendleton, jones new york, etc. – moderately priced, good quality clothes. The sales women are extremely helpful and, unfortunately, honest about how my hips looked in that cute horizontally striped skirt!

Hoity-toity, extravagant, ritzy, affluent. Call Von Maur what you like, but they have great clothes and if you find something fabulous on sale, then all power to you. This store replaced Jacobson’s, a well-beloved department store, that closed a few years ago. I worked at the Junior’s department in Jacobson’s and even I miss it. However, Von Maur has come in and picked up where the pieces where Jacobson’s left off. They cater to the wealthier folks in Louisville, but they have good-quality items that last and stay in style for a long time. They have a huge shoe department and a sale room with some excellent deals. Also, the makeup and accessories departments are also the best of any department store in the city. Completing the ambiance of this beautiful store is the hired pianist who plays classics and standards while the suburban housewife, teenager, etc. strolls through the store in search of a Kate Spade purse or a David Yurman necklace. Be prepared to drop an hour and some serious cash if you visit Von Maur.
