T J Maxx

I have been an avid TJ Maxx shopper for years and wanted to share my thoughts on this location. I’ve been multiple times, and when I went recently, it was to stock up on summer clothes. Often times the quality and selection can depend on which location you’re at. When I was here the other day, I managed to find super cute 7 denim bermuda shorts for under $ 30, a few really unique tops by Philosophy, some Ann Taylor Loft shorts in this fantastic periwinkle blue that are my new faves, as well as a couple of silk tops that were so interesting and beautiful that I couldn’t pass them by. Nothing cost me more than $ 30, and I basically walked out with a whole new summer wardrobe.
This store is clean, the dressing rooms are well lit and attended to, and the staff is very friendly. The only thing that can be a bit frustrating is trying to find things on the housewares shelves, given that people are constantly digging around and upending things. Even so, I was able to walk in with a very specific target item (tiny food containers), and I found six. I even found something I had to convince myself not to buy (this always happens): a portable charcoal grill in gorgeous bright colors like red and turquoise blue.
Returns are easy, and the staff doesn’t hassle you for bringing something back, which is one of the reasons TJ Maxx continues to be one of my go-​to spots for just about anything. Way better than shopping at a department store.

I have mixed reviews about TJ Maxx but my visit today may have changed my mind for good. I have several friends who swear by deals they find here but I have never had much luck. In addition, I have found I have to dig through unorganized racks, only to find something and try it on in a dimly lot box, covered in dirt and guarded by a semi-​conscious employee who wants nothing more than for me not to be standing in front of her. HOWEVER today I found the store very organized, clean, and newly renovated dressing rooms. The employees were helpful and the sections of the clothes were clearly marked. I found several deals and over all had a great experience. I will be sure to drive out to this location in the future.
