When it comes to nail salons there’s a few things that matter to me.
The most important one is that my shellac nails last a minimum of 14 days. I got a shellac mani at Signature nails and it peeled off several nails in 9 days. For the cost of it, I expect better quality than that.
Cleanliness of the salon was great.
I was rushed to pick out my colors before I had even looked through all the options. It was repeated to me 5x by two different employees – what color, what color, pick a color, have you chosen yet?
There’s hardly any massage in the mani or pedi. Like less than 45 seconds for each one. I’m sure of this before the girl massaged my hand/​arm while the other hand was under the curing light for the shellac.
If the shellac had stayed on for 14+ days, I would’ve went back but I won’t pay that cost and only get 9 days worth.

Signature nails is the go-​to place for everyone I know; they have a new technique that’s far better than gel it’s called SNS and it’s a dipping DUST that helps the polish it here for more than two weeks –try it out !!

II have heard great things about this place — I made an appointment for 6:30 pm and they got me in within 5 minutes of my arrival. I wanted a pedi/​shellac mani. The pedicure was great but the mani was very quick and she cut me THREE times. I had blood dripping off my thumb and she put nail glue in my cuts! No discount or nothing for the horrible service! My bill was 55.00! WILL NEVER GO BACK! I had two of the shellac come off within 3 days when they normally last 2+ weeks when I got to other salons.

Signature Nails is my go-​to place always! It so comfortable and Kevin, Lisa, and Chris and the rest of the staff do a really great job. I have been all over Louisville and this is the very best place I’ve found to do my nails.

My friend and I came here for their $ 35 mani/​pedi special. We very clearly made the appointment for the $ 35 mani/​pedi special, even put that down when we signed in.
I did not appreciate the sneaky upsells. My friend had never had shellac before and the way it was described made it sound as though it would be part of the $ 35 special. I, however, knew better and explicitly asked. It would cost $ 55 if we had mistakenly said yes. There was also considerable pressuring about why we should upgrade (less chipping, etc). The owner, who had checked us in, even came over to tell us why we should get shellac. I finally, nearly rudely, told them I had a bad experience with Shellac where the polish basically peeled off and they stopped asking.
That being said, I am aware that manicures chip relatively easily. Mine did after about two days. I will say my pedicure lasted nearly a month! Overall, it’s a great deal for $ 35, but be aware that the special only includes basic polish!
The spa was clean and all materials were clean. The woman who did mine wasn’t very sociable though I tried to engage her in conversation, maybe she was upset I did not decide to pay more.

I’m giving this place four stars because the service is near-​perfect, and the prices very reasonable. I stopped in because my new gel nails were giving me fits — the original shop put them on too thickly, and they lifted, and the second salon’s fill-​in work was lifting as well, plus it looked awful. Kevin, the owner, did my nails flawlessly. He’s been doing this for years, and is a real professional. He carefully sanded down the old gel, to the point where he was able to lift off a couple failing gels without pain. I got new gels all around, with nice handpainted white tips, the real deal UV cured finish that hardens immediately. My nails look great. He only charged me for a regular fill.
The atmosphere of the shop is comfortable and friendly. Classical music, pink walls, no fancy check in or waiting area, no wine. Perfect. The staff all seem happy and so do the customers. It’s a relaxing, comfortable, homey place where you can get fantastic nails at chop-​shop prices.
I think I’ll go back for a pedicure when it’s time for a fill. They can get busy, so you might want to call ahead.
