Karaōke. I like the sign up in the computer in the back. I like that you can go back there and see where you are on the list without having to shout over the speakers next to the Karaōke DJ. I don’t like being bumped because someone gave the KDJ a $ 100 tip (dude…if you can afford a $ 100 tip… why the hell are you drinking shitty PBR at the Rush Inn?!) I don’t like that if someone is gone by the time their song comes up, the DJ decides to sing their song instead of moving on to the next person on the list (that happened 3x).
It isn’t in my neck of the woods, so I probably won’t be back here unless someone else is driving and really *really* wants to go here.
But it wasn’t terrible.

I suppose this review hinges upon what I’m actually into as an individual, so read on with attention to detail.
I only give one-​star reviews if you are: A) uncleanly as an establishment or B) downright rude. And it wasn’t the bar’s fault that an extremely rude and vulgar person was in it… but they have to know who they cater to. I guess everyone just needs to be able to have a beer.
Let’s just keep this awful experience short and sweet. The second song that was howled over the karaōke was titled «Only Women Bleed.» I’m not making that up.
Being the savvy eclectic person in the back having a good olé time with your date and disregarding the ear-​splitting massacre of vocals in the front is also a bad idea. You will be noticed. And subsequently stared down until your laughter is suppressed into a blank state as you slowly become uncomfortable by the large man sweating at the end of the bar, eyes drooping and belly bulging. I’ll leave the words they said to us out of it as I will just stay out of this establishment for the rest of eternity.
If you like to sing/​howl/​hum to music though and karaōke is your thing– check it out. The Pabst was the same it is everywhere else and you might really enjoy the show.

Rush over to Rush Inn. Yup — I said it. This is a great little spot for a night o karaōke. First off, it is pretty divey, but surprisingly has this incredibly tech-​savvy karaōke touch-​screen sign up machine. It is the coolest thing ever. No flipping through a gazillion pages of a binder looking for songs, waiting to try to get one of the two copies so that your group can actually pick yours. Click, click, done. No worries about getting the wrong song. It is in the back of the room, so grab your pretty cheap drink and make your way towards the bathroom. There is also a cozy little patio right back there for those smokers and anyone needing a break from the bad singing and random song selection. This joint isn’t your standard, 50% of people actually want to make it, and no sad, whiny country songs.
And it was welcoming. Sometimes a place with regulars like this aren’t thrilled with new people, but Rush Inn was awesome. Super friendly, thrilled to have us, and I can see why they became regulars in the first place. My karaōke go to from now on.
