I can’t say enough good things! Carolina is the sweetest person ever, and she gave me a great tan. I will be back soon. The space is really beautiful and very clean, which I appreciate. if you need something to help your complexion out for the winter, pure tan is the place to go. The solution smells much better than any I have ever encountered, and looks very natural already. Thanks Carolina!

Want to have a great bronzy glow for an event, or a weekend getaway but don’t want to damage your skin in a tanning bed… Pure Tan is the place to go! It’s all natural solutions DON’T SMELL (this is a big deal for you spray tan aficionados out there) and they are the most natural colors I have found!
Pure Tan Studio is exactly what Louisville needed! There is no reason for women or men to go to «fake bake» tanning salons and damage their skin under high wattage bulbs anymore. Pure Tan is the natural response to what has given so many people skin cancer over the years (myself included). I have very fair skin and really love to have the glow of a fresh bronze look, however am NOT going to jeopardize my life for tanning.
When you walk into Pure Tan you are greeted by one of their friendly technicians that make you feel comfortable and welcome at their classy upscale tanning boutique. You are then escorted back into one of their completely private and relaxing tanning rooms. There your technician will have a full consultation (around 3 – 5 minutes) with you about what your goals are with your tan and together you come up with a solution for how you would like to look. Next she will give you time to prepare yourself (undress to you comfort level — swimsuits are definitely ok), while she mixes up your customized solution. Once she comes back into the room (knocking first, of course) the entire process takes about 10 minutes. Best part about this vs. one of those spray tan booths; there is no robot machine telling you to turn and bunches of power washer nozzles spraying you up and down! Your tanning technician gives you the perfect tan — no streaks, no lines and no major gaps where the sun didn’t seem to want to tan you there.
Parking tip: there is a little lot behind the store (look for the bank ATM sign), I always find safe and convenient parking there!

Really love this place and the job that they do. I was reluctant to try a spray tan but when two of my friends in the same week showed up with a gorgeous «tan» and they both attributed it to Pure Tan, I just have to give it a try. Now I too have a gorgeous «tan» with zero exposure to the sun’s harmful rays.
If you’re worried about the shade, no worries, they can and will tailor it for your complexion.

I have been a «fake bake» devotee for years, and always relied on the tans I could buy in a bottle from the drugstore. My first foray into spray tans came recently with a visit to Pure Tan.
The studio: located on Frankfort Ave, near the Blue Dog Bakery and across from St. Joseph’s. When I visited there was plenty of free street parking just in front of the studio. My tan artist greeted me in the chic lobby, checked me in, and explained the process to me.
Below are some of the essentials:
— For full body, undress to your level of comfort. They provide disposable underwear if you choose, and which I’d recommend to keep from getting color on your own pair.
— Your tan artist will put barrier cream on places like hands that tend to absorb more color and can look uneven without the barrier cream applied.
— The color is applied with something that looks like a small vacuum. It feels like a hair dryer on «cool shot» blowing on you.
— Don’t shower, swim, or go out in the rain for 5 – 8 hours after the procedure, as the tan is still developing. After 8 hours you can rinse off in the shower (no shower gel, etc)
The tan: looked great immediately, and smelled a lot like the beach (think of Hawai’in Tropic sunscreen). After my first shower, though, I smelled like sunless tanner for a day or two, no more great Hawai’in Tropic smell. The color lasted for several days, and got me through a big event that I had wanted it for in the first place.
The verdict: I’d go back here for another spray tan and would recommend it to a friend.

The facility was clean and beautiful and the experience is far superior to anything else in the Louisville area. I was supplied with disposable panties for my comfort that were optional. Carolina and Gretchen are amazing! My tan was bronzy and beautiful… No orange streaks at all! It lasted a little over a week for me and my boyfriend even complimented on how nice it smelled… poor guy, he had to endure the stink from the previous spray tan places.
