It’s a great Mom and Pop store idea but they are very much confused on the customer angle of it. To begin with, its not appetizing to see a baby laying on a fridge while they alternate between handling the baby and fixing the orders with no handwashing or sanitizing between. Its not lending to my trusting their cleanliness practices. They often have their young son, his girlfriend, their young cousin, there as well just behind the counter. The son helps but it is not run as efficiently as it could be. Its not lending to my trusting their cleanliness practices. They are very nice people with a very bad sense of business. I’m certain if the Health Dept ever made a surprise visit when the kids are behind the counter, there could be some concerns from it. Food is decent. They post hours on the doors, but open when they want. It’s not really convenient unless you are down there in the middle of the day.

Fine little snack shop that mainly serves the people that work in the Waterson Towers building. They have breakfast and lunch sandwiches as well as a variety of snacks. I did pick up the white Cheddar popcorn by Lance that our previous reviewer mentioned. They add sugar to it! Personally I prefer the Kroger brand white cheddar popcorn. More white cheddar powder, no MSG, no preservatives. But if you like that sugar kick with your popcorn, you CAN find it in the Lance brand.

I was on a desperate hunt for Lance brand snacks. Their White Cheddar popcorn is leagues beyond Smartfood or any of the half-dozen or so other brands I have tried which always have a vaguely dirt-like aftertaste. Plus a friend and I had been rhapsodizing about the Captain’s Wafers and oddly named treats like Choc-o-Lunch, Van-o-Lunch and Lem-o-Lunch(Lance’s take on sandwich cookies). As a child the pharmacy around the corner from my parents’ store stocked Lance’s products and one season of summer school in 1992 put me in a local school that had a vending machine with these treats. Somehow, the junk food of one’s youth is very compelling. I found EXACTLY what I was looking for and much more. Some of the products have had some changes made to them over the last couple of decades, but for the most part were as tasty as I remember them. Next trip to Nibble Niche will involve consuming some burgers or a corn dog.
