Margaret’s Consignment & Collectibles is an upscale consignment store with over 5,000 square feet of sales floor located at 2700 Frankfort Avenue in the historic Crescent Hill neighborhood. With a commitment to only accepting the highest quality new and gently used items, Margaret’s carries an excellent selection of men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing, as well as jewelry, accessories, and household collectibles.
History
Established in 1991.
Margaret Browning opened her store in 1991 and expanded to include a home store in 1999. The store has received many awards and recognitions over the years, including: being a 2010 CVB «Rose Award» Nominee; being a Business First «Business of the Year» nominee; receiving the «Best of Louisville» award; being recognized as the «Best Consignment Store» by readers of Louisville Eccentric Observer in 2000, 2003, 2010 and 2011; receiving the «Her Award» from Today’s Woman in 2002; receiving Congressional recognition in 1998; being nominated for the National Association of Women Business Owners’ in 1998 and 2002; being named the Frankfort Avenue Business Association’s «Business of the Year» in 2008, among many others.

Margaret Browning opened her store in 1991 and it has become an icon in the Crescent Hill neighborhood. She is very involved in the community, and supports various charities such as Hosparus, St. Joseph’s Children’s Home, and the Prom Project. She is also the chairperson of the Olde Tyme Christmas Celebration on Frankfort Avenue.
