History

Established in 1994.

LightSpeed Productions, LLC, combines of more than 50 years of creative experience in all areas of visual technology. We provide photography, video, AV, graphics, web, event and attraction services. We are the trademarked home of 21^st Century Photography and Video.

Lightspeed Productions precursor was the first studio in the region to go totally digital. During the last decade we established the photo services at the Louisville and St. Louis Zoos, developed software for sporting events, and produced photos and videos for events in more than 40 states and Canada. We have also provided many large corporations such as Ducati Motorcycles, Arai Helmet, JL Marketing, and many more with the images to sell their products online.

Meet the Business Owner

Gil C.

Business Owner

Gil Courson has been a professional photographer for over 25 years. After working for newspapers in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Florida, he returned home to The Courier-​Journal in Louisville, Kentucky. His last years on The CJ staff, he specialized in advertising and studio work.

Since the ‘90s, Gil has operated his own photo studio and business in Louisville. His studio was the first in the region to go totally digital. During the last decade he established the photo services at the Louisville and St. Louis Zoos, developed software for sporting events, and produced photos and videos for events in more than 40 states and Canada.

He is current or former member of the National Press Photographers Association, the American Society of Media Photographers, and the Kentucky News Photographers Association. Gil has also won many local, regional and national awards including a staff Pulitzer.
