Overall, I love the folks who work here. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. My complaints are about the unstocked shelves. I feel like I’m shopping during the Cold War in the USSR. I do understand that sometimes shortages happen, but it’s Kroger L-752. It’s not St. Petersburg. Taken to one * because of their poor excuse for a point of sale system.

For many years I shopped Kroger Highlands. I’ve moved and I’m near Central Ave Krogers. In my opinion this store is just plain crappy. The entrance is dirty. No small shopping carts. Often out of the black plastic carts. The cashiers don’t say ‘thank you’. And they chat with each other instead of paying attention. They don’t keep the store shelves stocked well. I have complained to corporate but I just get a lame ‘I’m sorry’. Who the heck manages this store? Guess I’ll drive the eight miles to the Highlands. Larry 8128663871. Update 122015-the store still cannot seem to keep instant oatmeal and yogurt stocked. No hand baskets available. I took a photo of the oatmeal shelves but I don’t know how to attach it to my review. In sum appears the store continues to have sloppy management.

This krogers location kind of brings out the ghetto of Louisville but it is trying to become for health friendly and green, which I love! I love that it is so close to Louisville’s campus, but hate that it is so close to the baseball field, football stadium, and church hill downs around the time of derby because traffic and parking are somewhat ridiculous. Overall can’t complain too much about the Kroger employees most seem very friendly and helpful, but it’s location makes this Kroger somewhat ghetto and though to have fun grocery shopping in!

Had to wait in line today to place an order for catering at the Deli. Was able to look at platter options while I waited, menu is very user friendly. Monique helped me place the order, she was very helpful and even accommodated me to make sure there will be vegetarian options in my order. I will definitely be using them for events in the future.

I recently moved to this area and started shopping at this Kroger. It is smaller than others I’ve shopped at, but the aisles are nicely laid out and easy to navigate. I have been able to find everything I need, so selection is pretty good. The worst part, and the reason for only three stars, is the fact that this store doesn’t have a U-Scan for large orders. I like those because they’re faster and I can bag my own groceries. The cashiers are fine, but the baggers are terrible! I am one of the few customers who uses the canvas bags, and these baggers don’t seem to know how to handle them. One week, my apples were put on top of my bread. Today, the bagger put far fewer items in the canvas bag than it will take, which meant he used more plastic than necessary. If I wanted to use all of that plastic, I wouldn’t be using the canvas bags.

As others have said, this Kroger is the closest to UofL, so it was my «go to» grocery store as a student there. I continue to go to this location fairly frequently. It’s your typical chain grocery store or supermarket. Nothing fancy, but they generally have the items I am looking for and a variety of brands. However, I will note that this location doesn’t have many of the«fancy» things you may find at other Kroger locations, like a salad bar(just one example). Additionally, the produce section is somewhat limited in comparison to other Kroger locations. For example, I have looked for pomegranates here(when they were in season and could be found at other Krogers) and they are nowhere to be found. I assume that is due to size, but what can you do? A-OK, it is. Oh, and they do have some University of Louisville Cardinals merchandise up front(usually relatively inexpensive), if you’re looking to show your Cardinal pride!

A huge parking lot services this neighbourhood store. I like the friendly greeters and the staff is friendly too. I had read other reviews(on Google) that called this the«ghetto Kroger’s» and having lived a good percentage of my life in West Oakland I expected something a little more run down but this store is not quite my experience of living in a Ghetto, lol. It is clean, well staffed and the signage makes things clear and the prices are great! Great for the budget minded. The store brand food, spices and etc are very good! Perhaps that I am used to bay area prices but getting a great amount of food for under $ 50 dollars is a huge bonus. It is a smaller store(not like the huge Walmarty superstores, so politeness counts as you navigate with other shoppers.

Shelves and aisles were recently shuffled around a little. I think this has allowed a *slightly* larger selection of items. This was not an all out remodeling, but a more efficient way to organize the store. The layout is now similar to that of newer Kroger stores. I like this because it’s easier to remember where everything is. Bad: This is still a small Kroger. It’s a little tight and checkout is easily backed up. Good: It’s part of an attractive shopping center with a good handful of dining options. VERY good: There is an employee named Mary, who I usually see tackling the position of «door greeter». She is the most friendly and nicest person I have ever seen on this planet. She is amazing and is truly an asset to this store. When I do visit, and I don’t see her when I enter the store, it is very disappointing. She is the best thing at this store.

This is definitively a college grocery store. It’s crowded at weird times of day, has a weird and sometimes unsavory group of people hanging around usually, and doesn’t have particularly friendly staff. It certainly works and has food, but nothing special.

Considering this is one of Kroger’s Value Stores, it has a surprisingly good selection of everything. This also includes various other nick-nacks that you may have forgotten to pick up at other stores. If for some reason you’re unimpressed, I beg you to take a look at the other nearby grocery stores(Kroger in the Highlands doesn’t count). Anyway, if you live in the immediate area, or go to UofL and live near campus, I strongly suggest checking this place out for your shopping needs.
