At 1:15 on a Sunday, it was very busy. I thought i’d be safe with the breakfast bar. They were out of biscuits, so the gravy sat there getting very thick. They were also out of bacon, sausage and waffle sticks. Things were filled gradually, but with no consistency. When a batch of biscuits finally came out, there was a rush to the buffet. The food was bland, had no seasoning and there was no salsa or hot sauce. I won’t be back.

If you don’t come in here expecting too much, you won’t be disappointed. I came in for the breakfast bar and had my fill of the items they had available. They also had the salad bar up and running so I got some items from there as well. The restaurant looked clean and the waitress was super friendly. Can’t speak for any menu items, but by the consistent flow of people coming in I will assume it can’t be that bad. I would stop here again for the buffet if I am craving and all you can eat gorging of breakfast foods.

Everytime I’m in town, I like to come here for their breakfast sandwiches. This is a classic American restaurant. The breakfast buffet ain’t bad either!!!

I normally only try to write good reviews but I have to say that this was the worst breakfast buffet that I’ve ever seen! Everything was dry and cold and over done. I didn’t complain because I dont want to be that guy but I will never come back nor do I recommend it. The restroom floors were also sticky and nasty.

This Frisch’s Big Boy has some of the best customer service I’ve seen. I came here with a couple of colleagues for a quick lunch(not having been to a Frisch’s in years) and I was pleasantly surprised. I had some coffee, a cup of chili and a small burger. The waitress, Bridgett(sorry if it’s only one t), was phenomonal. She was friendly and attentive and made the lunch even more enjoyable.

I’m very impressed with the food selection and freshness on their breakfast bar. Our service was pleasant and quick, especially considering the amount of people in the dining area. A very busy Saturday in the peak of Christmas Shopping season and our waiter, who had at least 6 other tables, was amazing.

I had better tasting food in basic training. Even their salt is bland tasting. I might as well have ordered water as that’s what was in their soda, mostly. I asked for steak sauce and when I opened it, it was watery rather than thick. The only good thing was the salad bar but really, save your time and money and go somewhere else. I mean unless you don’t like tasting your food.

It is a diner. Fast service and friendly waitresses. The big boy burger is a classic, and reasonable. Fish is cracker crumb style and crispy with their famous tartar.

Always fast and always friendly. The cook has been here for over 30 years. Best place for a quick breakfast or a quick lunch with out having to hit the burger joints.

The employees are at most times cross, short, and rude. Customer service can go a long way, evening fast food businesses. Small things such as smiling, brief conversation for the sake of feeling welcome are what is missing from this McDonald’s. On the plus side, it is right next to the freeway and the drive-thru line is typically a short wait.

For the price, the super Big Boy and the original fish sandwich are great. I neglected this place too long and regret wasting my dollars at the highly touted and high priced burger specialty shops when a Super Big Boy is as good as any of them.

If you look up «Amazing Customer Service» in the dictionary you will find a picture of Chris, the waitress at Frisch’s who took care of me today when I specially requested that she ask the kitchen to make me a Big Boy with a turkey burger instead of a beef burger(not available on the menu). She meticulously ensured that the request was fulfilled exactly and it was delicious and satiated my nostalgic craving, which is a story for another day. She also checked in on me multiple times, made sure that my drink was refilled, provided me with a to-go cup of my favorite diet coke with vanilla, and was overall extremely friendly. The rest of the staff was also extremely friendly, from the hostess to the server who came over to the salad bar and identified the soup of the day for me. While I understand the disappointment from those who may not be familiar with the Frisch’s brand, for someone like myself who grew up on this food, I love this place.

Do not eat here. If I gave you the details you wouldn’t want to eat anywhere for awhile. Just say their breakfast bar took a few days of my life. 1 star is 1 too many.

My friend and I saw Frisch’s in different parts of the city when we first moved to Louisville, and there is one close to where we live(the Shelbyville Rd location) so one night we thought we’d check it out. I ordered the Patty Melt with fries and my friend ordered a burger with onion rings. The lady who served us was warm, friendly and attentive but the food was quite disappointing. The Patty Melt was okay but not a patch on what you get at places like Steak and Shake. My friend was not impressed with his burger. The fries were average, the onion rings pretty mediocre, nothing we ate had any real flavor… everything was extremely greasy, and if you’re indulging in unhealthy food, you expect it to taste good but my friend and I could taste the oil in our mouths and felt like our entire gastrointestinal tract was coated with grease… we swore never to go back there again. If I’m going to have my arteries clogged and die of sheer gluttony, the food had better be palatable. I try to avoid fast food places like the plague unless I’m on the Interstate but every now and then, I have a hankering for a nice juicy burger — in those cases, I’d rather go to a good burger place or even chomp away on a fast food burger than subject myself to the culinary travesty that is Frisch’s…

Burgers are better at Wendy’s and way cheaper. The soup and salad bar was okay. I think we can pay the same price at golden corral and get much better food. I’m glad I tried it. Now I know I’m not missing out.

«Soups and Salads» simply the three words that made us try Frisch’s Big Boy but we tried neither because by the looks of the soup and salad station ~ it doesn’t look fresh at all. We ordered chili spaghetti, junior burger and fish & chips. We should have gone to Mc Donalds. We enjoyed the complimentary dinner roll though.
