Enjoyed this as it was extra credit for my Spanish class due to it being a Dias los Muertos themed celebration. It was organized & interesting. Stayed true to the event description, excellent delivery. Would love to see more merchants on hand!

I had fun when I went but I was also a little confused. How often does the Trolley come by? How long does it run? Where does it stop? Does it stop at all the stops marked with the Trolley T? No. Which is fine if no one is there to get on and no one has pulled the string indicating they want to get off. But when we did… the driver took us 2 more stops down. Are there stops they ignore on different trolley nights? I went another time, took the trolley from NuLu(Garage Bar) to Glassworks. We never saw another trolley the rest of the night. A long hike back to the car. I like the idea of the Trolley Hops. But my experience with the 3 or 4 that I’ve gone on, leaves a lot to be desired. And a lot to be explained.

I know next to nothing about art and the stuff I do see I mostly think is crap. «Oh it’s an empty box that represents the emptiness of life. I see a box filled to the brim with your artistic talent.» OK, maybe I’m a bit jaded when it comes to art because I was never allowed to color outside the lines as a child. I really just wrote that to make sure I fit a joke in here somewhere. Now where was I… Oh yes, Trolley Hop. So when I say it’s fun you better damn well know I mean it. It’s not all about the art. It’s also about the comradery and drinking. Also some of the art galleries have free food! There is a something for everyone. Charcoal drawings or photos of nearly naked women or 3d printer house molds or blue shells of death from mario kart or shirts with funny sayings. All of which were actually there! What I’m trying to articulate is grab a few friends and go absorb some damn culture. You can watch reruns of Walking Dead any time. It’s in and around the Nulu area. Just follow the trolleys and you’ll know you’re headed in the right direction.

If you love exploring Louisville– you MUST do the First Friday Trolley Hop downtown/Nulu. I recommend starting at Red Tree to shop for a new locally made piece of jewelry, wine stopper or candle. From there– go across the street and grab a drink at The Garage Bar, get your ping-pong on and hang out on a shrub chair. Get an appetizer downstairs in the basement at Decca. Walk around the Art galleries nearby. Hop on a trolley and go to Haymarket for a beer out of the beer vending machine. Head on over to BBC or Against the Grain on the next trolley for a local brew. Tired of beer? Trolley it over to Old 502 Winery for a tasting and some live music. So much to do! Eat, drink, shop, admire art.
