My husband and I stopped in on a Saturday Night around 8:00pm. The dinning room had a few other dinners but no wait. We were seated right away. My husband ordered the pork chops and I had the brats. First the portions were large. So you do get your money worth as far as meat and potatoes. I did like the salad dressing. It was an oil and vinegar with seasonings potato salad was good and tasted homemade as did the sauerkraut. Now for the disappointments gravy on the pork chops tasted like it came from a package or a can. It was not homemade. Then my brats were either previously frozen and thawed out then cooked or they were not homemade at all and where just Johnsonville packaged brats. They were okay tasting, just not fresh and did not taste homemade. The service was good and the beer was very good as well. No draft beer only bottle. I will be exploring other German restaurants in Louisville to give more review in comparison.

Delightful authentic German restaurant on the East side, a gem among the mostly chain restaurants nearby. Would recommend making the trip here, even if you are coming from a better selection of diverse restaurants, such as along Bardstown or Frankfurt. My husband and I are our nine month old daughter were lucky enough to have the place almost to ourselves on a Thursday evening. We were greeted and served by Erika(presumably!), and she was delightful. We started our meal with the Kartoffelpuffer(potato pancakes served with applesauce) and they were superb. Having spent time in Germany a year and a half ago, we felt treated by the jagerschnitzle and house-made bratwurst. When our daughter started fussing and I took her out of her high chair to hold her, Ericka offered to hold her for us so we could finish our meals! She took her and showed her around. The only bummer of the night is that in our rush to get baby home to bed, we forgot to order dessert. Next time!

Great strip mall owner-operator German place in the KFC city. If they had swinehaxen they would get 5 stars.
