We were promptly seated in the nearest section of the restaurant, which only had one other seated table. The other side seemed pretty busy. It took about 15 minutes to even get chips and salsa, which are usually placed on the table practically before you take your seat at a Mexican restaurant. After ordering two pretty simple dishes(enchiladas de mole and polla asado), we waited 45 minutes before our food finally arrived. When it did, it was practically ice cold. Our server was nice and apologized, and asked if he could make it up with dessert. But, at that point, we were starving and just wanted to get out and run over to Subway a few doors down. I’m giving this location 2 stars because a few previous trips to the Bardstown Road El Nopal were perfectly fine. But

So while I will say that I don’t ever expect stellar service from an El Nopal, this location certainly disappointed tonight. My friend called earlier in the day to make reservations for a large party of 10 and there ended up being about 15 – 16 of us throughout the night. The server was completely overwhelmed by this and could not keep up, nor did anyone in the restaurant help her other than to bring our food out. Drinks ran dry and say dry, entrees were given to the wrong person and only discovered after half eaten(oops), and side items or toppings were not brought out with the meals. We were all good natured about it, but I would say that overall the service was a disaster. This was only my second visit to this location as it is somewhat out of the way for me but a central location for us all tonight. It makes me happy that the locations closer to me are much better managed!

So I just picked up my carryout… Got home… No tomatillo and got hung up on when I complained. I will never go back to this place and tell everyone in this world to never go back. They’ve screwed me too many times. And to top it off hung up on me when they did wrong. I never complain! But this place sucks. Leave bardstown road. As a chef… U guys are a disgrace to my business.

Although I’ve eaten at El Nopal many times, today was my first visit to this particular location. My first impression was how clean this restaurant was! Floors, tables, even the bathroom were completely spotless. El Nopal restaurants are typically kept nice and clean, but this one was noticeably so. Service was typical of this type of restaurant– pleasant but not overly attentive, which I always enjoy. We got our food very quickly, and it was as good or better than usual. Everything was nice and fresh– as good or better than usual. I would definitely visit again.

That Katie N chick sounds like a snob. Been here 3 times now. First time, not impressed. Of course the place had only been open for a few days. My other two visits went well. Great food. The bartender was talkative and friendly. They have daily specials. You can drink here for cheap.

We have been here twice. Both times the staff has been attentive and friendly. Food has been served quickly and delicious! The fish tacos are SOGOOD!!!

TERRIBLE service! Easily the slowest service I’ve experienced at one of these establishments. The waiter acted as if any requests(like, you know, glasses of water at the table) were the most annoying requests imaginable, and we waited for a significant length of time for any food at all. I will NEVER return to this El Nopal again, and will deter my friends from coming here. There are much nicer places around here with much better service.

Pretty decent restaurant. Good drink prices. Fajitas are a little above average. The carne Asada was not as good though. Very tough skirt steak and not much flavor.

I went with the family here and had a very nice meal. We were seated immediately on a Saturday night. We ordered mixed fajitas and they were large and tasty. The food came out right away and was hot and fresh. A $ 4 margarita, queso fundido, attentive service, and a decent kids menu made this a four star visit. I’d like to return for the $ 1560 oz. margarita pitcher someone sans kids. This place took over the old This Siam spot. I will miss their pad thai but the chuletas & Simply Thia will help offset this loss. On a side note… I was surprised to be hit up going in and coming out by panhandlers… One who was arrested as we were leaving for a very valid reason I will not list here. I say surprised as I’ve lived here all my life and this is the first time I’ve encountered this in this shopping center.
