Food was really good, had the special which was pecan crusted Canadian Walleye with collard greens and rice. Absolutely delicious. Owner Rob came out and greeted us. Very warm and relaxing environment. Would highly recommend for dinner.

I used to frequent Corner Café a lot when I lived and worked near it. Hadn’t been there in several years, but went with a few girlfriends last night. As always, the food was good — good flavor, generous portions(the petite yielded enough for lunch today). Prices are reasonable. Our server was nice, but not very good. We waited at least 15 minutes to get our first glasses of wine, then were never offered more until our entrees were delivered, then we had to wait at least another 10 minutes to get those second glasses. Being a Tuesday night, it was not at all crowded, so I couldn’t understand why it took so long to get a glass of wine. I also agree with another reviewer — our server didn’t know if they had spiced rum at the bar, so they really need to train them a bit more. That said, I’ll go back and still recommend it for lunch or dinner. Maybe we just caught a new server or something.

We had a party of ten on a Saturday night and were seated promptly. The food is always ALWAYS exceptional! The Cajun seafood Alfredo is definitely our favorite but it’s truly hard to go wrong with anything on this menu. Our server was new but did a great job!!! Family friendly is a HUGE plus as well.

Last night our visit was not one of our best there. Our waitress, albeit very friendly, failed to bring us rolls that she mentioned and then at the end of the evening gave a lame excuse to my husband as to way they never appeared. My husband and friend ordered salads and the croutons were big and extremely hard. They were not edible. We all three tried to eat one but they were like rocks. Our waitress and the person who brought us our food laughed it off when we told them and said they were crunchy. I have to say the dinners were quite tasty. However, I do not like to be brushed off when bringing something to their attention. I had a gift certificate so it was not like I wanted my meal comped. An apology, not a lame excuse, was all that was necessary.

The corner café is an unusual place. There are regulars who’ve been coming to this place for decades. Some people(like me) pop in here for lunch meetings from time to time. But I think most would agree to the statement; «ehh, ya know, it’s pretty good». I don’t think there is anything particularly special about the place. I think it wears the cloak of a restaurant far fancier than it is. It looks dated on the inside. And the seating is just a little too tight. But overall the food is great. The people are friendly. The owner seems welcoming and gregarious. Overall, I’ve always had good experiences. And I’ve enjoyed every meal I’ve tried. I think they could slim down their menu and update some of the décor. But it’s not a bad place. I wouldn’t call it fancy, but I wouldn’t call it casual either.

CC doesn’t look like much on the outside, but this belies the fact that the ambiance inside is actually quite warm and comfortable. The menu is suprisingly varied, perhaps a bit too much so, ranging from fairly inelegant sandwiches to decent pizzas and pastas to nicely plated $ 20 – 30 dinner entrees. As an entrée I recommend the Irish pork tenderloin(~$ 22). It’s a generous and tender(yet lean) cut of pork, served with sides of stewed purple cabbage, green beans, and scalloped(–ish) potatoes. Balanced, colorful, very flavorful, and not too heavy.

To vet my review, we purchased our first home via their fax machine in March 2010. I received a call of my Grandad’s death while eating here in 2005. I loved this place. Ok, so the food is good to nearly great, but the service takes it down to a one star. Servers rarely know what bourbons, scotchs, or wine are offered. They really need to reduce the menu and do 15 – 20 items excellent instead of the huge menu offered. If you’re a film producer, wanting to film a 1980’s décor mob movie, you’re in luck! This would be the perfect place. For the rest of the evolving dining scene, it’s time to move on.

Have had several nice lunches but my first dinner experience was off. Pasta dish was bland at best and one entrée was wrong. Service was mediocre at best(waitress not familiar was menu) and management showed a lack of concern. Will not give them another try for dinner.

Used to take the family here years ago, when the kids were still kids. Went there last night after many years — still good food at good prices. Why did we stay away do long? It really is a great value with excellent food.

Great little place to eat lunch. The service was fast and the food is good. I had an italian sub and my wife had a gyro, both were delish. The prices are reasonable. The crowd was a bit older than I expected, but if i am in the area and looking for a sitdown meal, I would not hesitate to return.

Came here while staying in the area. Cute place, would be great if I was a local for a nice dinner out on Friday night. Food was OK. Lobster bisque and the rolls were really good. My wife got the BLT soup which was OK but not great. Next I had the shrimp and grits. Very disappointing. By the time it got to me the sauce had formed a skin and the shrimp seemed a tad undercooked. Grit texture and flavor was good but this place couldn’t even be the same ball park as Jack Fry’s. I got a pasta with Romano cream sauce and chicken. It was pretty good, nothing amazing. My wife got Gorgonzola stuffed ravioli with mushrooms and filet medallions. It was OK. she wasn’t into it. Over all just so so. Disappointing to me based on the reviews. They were very friendly but the service was a tad slow. They were very helpful in accommodating our 2 year old by bringing him some fruit. I would try it again if I was in town but only if anchor café is closed!

Love this resturant! Great prices and family friendly. I really like the pacific rim salmon. The staff is always polite and service is very quick. It’s a great family resturant and a great place for a quiet romantic date night. They have everything from pizza, sandwiches, pastas, and several high quality entrees. They also have a great wine and cocktail selection. I def. reccomend trying this little hole in the wall located in Lyndon.

With out of town house guests, one needs to know where to go for dinner that will WOW them, and make you the hero as the host. The place has to have a varied menu, with an interesting ambiance and friendly staff. We chose the Corner Café, and we were not disappointed. The interesting art work alone is worth the visit, especially by Don Burchett, one of my favorite locals. the four of us that night had something different, and the selections were all delivered to please. Don’t mistake the menu listing«petite» for a small serving though. It just means you won’t require a large to-go box when you don’t finish it. Being a supporter of local farming and markets, I would have liked to see some meats and veges from the locals.(I’m thinking of the outstanding meats from Dream Catcher Farms) Perhaps this is an opportunity for the owners to cash in on what some other restaurants are doing to attract the natives with the same interests as mine; growing the local economy by supporting the local growers!

A place for pow wows. The Café is near our office and when we have limited time or the need for privacy, we head over to the Corner, and feel we’ve earned our own booth. The ice tea is always just made fresh, salads delicious, always a special and the forever reliable menu of sandwiches and soup. We(my bunch) are sure glad to have such a refuge. Thanks Corner Café!

Corner Café is like your favorite pair of blue jeans. No matter how many times you wear them you aren’t disappointed. Corner Café offers everything from salads, sandwiches, subs, pizza, pasta, to a various assortment of entrees. There is something to please everyone. Some of my favorites at Corner Café is the antipasta salad. The anitpasta salad could be a meal in itself for most people. It is piled hight with three different meats, olives, mushrooms, banana peppers, and olives. It is must have for any antipasta fan. Another one of my favorite dishes is the cajun seafood alfredo. This dish comes loaded with a combination of scrimp, oysters, muscles, and scollops complemented with a mild cajun cream sauce. Finally my favorite entrée is the Hollandaise Tenderloin. Grilled tenderloin medallions are topped with crabmeat and a hollandaise sauce. This is a very decadent dish, but the price also reflects this decadence. Corner Café has a very quaint local neighborhood feel to it that makes you feel warm and welcomed when you are there. Corner Café has been a Louisville fixture for almost two decades and after eating there you can see why.
