Derby Day. Booked a stay. Had my way. What else to say… That’s all I want to rhyme for this installment. This place wasn’t a bad find for the Derby. It was about a 2.5 mile walk from the track but that was fine, kind of. When we checked in, I was given a nice little set of chocolates and a strangely framed picture of something derby related. I appreciated the chocolates. We watched some playoff basketball in the room and fell asleep. All in all, not the worst experience, not the best. I’m about three stars worth of happiness as I reflect on my time there.

Just got here and read the reviews and was ready, but I got to the room and it big spacious, beds clean and fresh. Good shower pressure, attentive employees. Shuttle from the airport. Fridge microwave free internet.

Highway Robbery!!! A 60 dollar room(not even worth that) is 450 bucks during the Derby. This is unacceptable. The place is seething with the dregs of society. Now I know what it means to be both down and out. 10 to a room with more coming in the room next door to mine. At the end of the runway so I duck every time a jet comes in to land. This is pure and simple. NEVERSTAYHERE.

First of all, our third floor room was fine. It was clean and in good repair. I have no complaints about the room. Associates of mine who stayed on the first floor were very unhappy with the condition of their rooms though. The first morning that we were there we noticed that there wasn’t much toilet paper in the room. My husband called the desk to have someone bring more and he was told that housekeeping doesn’t come in until 10 am. You have to wait to get toilet paper? The next day I was supposed to go to work at a trade show. When I went to get into the shower there was no hot water. We called down to the desk to find out if it was just a matter of waiting, they acknowledged there was a problem but had no estimate of when there might be hot water. Then the toilet clogged. We had to use the towels to wipe up the bathroom floor… and you guessed it, we couldn’t get any more to dry off after our cold shower because it was before 10 am. There were others in my party that had toilet problems as well. When we tried to check out there was a sign at the desk that said«Sorry that the clerk is away for a few minutes, she is helping another guest». I waited, and waited, and waited. My husband came back in from the car to see what was taking me so long. He said«I saw her(the clerk) drive off in the shuttle van». You have got to be kidding me. After waiting 15 min. and trying to call on the phone to see if there was anyone else in the building who could help me, I called the national number for Comfort Inn. They advised me to leave my keys with a note. But by that time the clerk had returned from driving people to the convention center. I didn’t have the heart to complain to her. She looked so frazzled and embarrassed. I am certain that she didn’t want to be in that position. How unfair to ask her to work the front desk at check-out time and drive the shuttle. Location is great. Very close to the convention center and highways. If you can put up with the lack of service, just be sure to ask for a room on the third floor.
