These guys might have the coldest beer around, and just off Dixie Hwy, Benchwarmers is a refreshing change from the norm. Today I had a really nice pizza for a late lunch and a cold beer, neither disappointed. The owner is rather new and he’s still figuring it out, but by keeping a clean kitchen, good food and cold beer he’s on the right path. Was telling me about a lot of coming improvements for the summer as well. Local bands play on weekend nights and if the food is good and the drinks are cheap… its worth a stop.

While I was walking into this bar I didn’t think it would be too bad. New Ownership and I haven’t came in a long time. However, the service is Horrible. There was a guy behind the bar & he wouldn’t even wait on me. A couple people sitting at the bar stated, «he might come in a minute» I stood there for at least 10 minutes before getting waited on because he was outside smoking… Not to mention ½ drunk. Once I got my beer it took another 20 minutes before he took my order because he was playing on his phone. I finally went up to the bar and asked him if I could order food and he said, «Yea what do you want» Very Rude as if I was bothering him. To make a long story short if you would like good food & good service DONOTCOMEHERE!!! I asked a couple friends that used to go there up and they stated that was the owners son. The do not go to Benchwarmers anymore because of the NEW Owner and his Son… now I understand why.

An Ode to my Uncle Mark My Uncle Mark came to this bar quite often, he even had his own table that he sat at every time he came. I was fortunate to know him for 26 years of my life and thankful to be close with my family. After Mark’s visitation a bunch of us came to Benchwarmers to celebrate his life. They had a picture of him in the corner with a beer right next to it. We had a great time talking and eating some really good food that night(pineapple and green pepper individual pizza is DELICIOUS!). And the bar made us feel like family even though we’d either never been or certainly didn’t come as often as Mark. At the end of the night(well, end of the night for me) they made a toast to him which was very touching. I really wish this place wasn’t all the way across town for me. I’d love to sit a little while and remember a great man.

Great family hangout after ball games. Also had a surprise 40th birthday party for my husband here.
