Looking for a great workout? Check out Barre3! I went there this past weekend for a Unilocal event and was seriously impressed! As an athlete, I tend to find some fitness classes not challenging enough, however Barre3 definitely made me work – by the end of some exercises I was feeling the burn. But don’t be nervous about trying this place out. It’s for any level of fitness and provides modifications for every workout to make it easier or more difficult. The instructors are motivational and understanding and the music keeps it exciting. Also, the studio has everything you need so just come dressed ready to work out and they’ll have everything else! They provide towels, mats, weights, bands, and the ball. You don’t even need to worry about shoes, as most work out barefoot! The one downside is that this is going to cost you more monthly than your regular gym. It’s $ 22 for a single class, $ 90 for 5 classes, and $ 140 for an unlimited monthly membership. It’s a little steep, but you are getting more attention than you would at a typical gym.

The studio, Barre3 on Frankfort Ave is lovely, with a welcoming lobby, shop as you enter the front door. A large cork floor and barre/mirror studio with roll up doors(old gas station?). Will they open them in Spring & Fall??? The facilities were large, clean and well-appointed with showers and vanity area. I thought they were really well done and classy. I like a nice bathroom! Nikki, our instructor, was energetic and encouraging, reminding people to modify if needed. She got us warmed up quickly and had us doing lots of reps. The ball squeeze between the thighs while on the balls on our feet while in chair pose was challenging to say the least. Nikki pushed us to the limit and then… whew…release! I had a fabulous time, am deliciously sore and proud of myself for meeting the challenge!

I was really sad when my fitness place closed in August and particularly sad because I loved the Barre classes it offered. So, when I heard Barre3 was opening, I got pretty excited. It was worth the wait for sure. Barre3 is a mix of Barre, yoga, and pilates. It focuses on small movements that tire your muscles out, giving you lean and long toned muscles. Every class is an hour and targets all parts of your body — legs, arms, butt, core, and back. You rotate between using a ball, band, weights, and/or the barre for the movements. The class is challenging and will make you sore… really sore. Barre3 also heavily focuses on modifications. If you can’t do something or it is uncomfortable for you, the instructor will give you alternatives for the movements. They really focus on what’s best for you and your body. The Barre3 staff and instructors are extremely friendly and helpful. Nikki, the owner, is always cheerful and energetic when you walk in. I was able to get the founding member monthly price, which was a pretty good deal. Its a bit more expensive now but once you feel your body getting stronger and leaner, you’ll know it’s worth it. I don’t have kids but they also offer child care at some of their classes which I’m assuming would be a plus for moms. I highly recommend this total body workout.

I’ve only been to 2 classes so far, but I’m pretty sure I’m hooked on barre3. To echo what another reviewer mentioned, this place is SO clean on the inside! Granted, it is really new, but I appreciate it a lot. Makes me feel just a little bit better about being up and working out so early in the morning. Pricing, especially the new client package(3 classes for $ 40), seems pretty reasonable, so if you want to just try it out, I suggest you go for it! They provide all the equipment you need for the class, and you just have to bring your own water bottle. The instructors are really nice and peppy, which is exactly what I need to pull me out of my morning fog. I really appreciate the 6am classes, but they only offer them on Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Friday’s right now. Hopefully they’ll add some more in the future!

I’m new to barre3 but I love it! Everyone is friendly. Space is SUPER clean. Décor is fresh. The classes are well-taught, good for newbies and definitely allow(and encourage) you to go it at your own pace/skill level. I especially love it bc it’s walking distance from my house(makes those 6am classes doable). Oh! And there’s childcare. So, while this is their first week actually open to the public they’ve been good about opening up a few spaces for guests of members, idk if this will be a trend but I’ve been able to bring a pal. There are locker rooms but no scale.
