Bandwidth Com Clec

I have been spammed by the fake law enforcement calls from 562 395 3222.

Their customer is spaming my cell phone. I’ve been told to contact «law enforcement» and to email their AUP address which just tells me they can’t give me the clients info for privacy concerns even though their client keeps calling me.

I have been getting months of calls from these people. Now they are calling me multiple times a day. When I did some checking, I found out the numbers are owned by
LLC. When I called several departments to get a real person, the first two people were snotty and the third person finally talked to me. He confirmed that Bandwidth does indeed own these numbers but patched me over to the Voice Department (at least that’s what he called it). They then said go to their website to file a complaint. In other words, «Piss off.» Here are the numbers and the dates and times for the last couple of days.

telemarketing calls from 410−929−7247 daily and on weekends non-​stop. looked up the number and it is linked to
clec. I am reporting this to several websites. I am on DNC list.

Same problems as those below. Received telemarketing call from 720−443−5196, registered to this company. Despite that my number is on the Do Not Call registry.

This company is facilitating phone scam operators. If it were possible to rate them at –10, I’d do it. Here’s the text of the complaint I sent to the company:
To whom it may concern,
I am under no illusions regarding your company taking responsibility for its actions and am fairly certain that
will do absolutely nothing about any of the complaints they’ve received/​will receive in regard to the telephone scam operations your company has enabled, so I reported your company to the FCC. After looking into this a bit, I’m thinking of also filing a report with the FBI and the FTC as well as the Attorney General’s office. It’s late, so I’ll get on that tomorrow. Meanwhile, here’s the result of the havoc your company has created or enabled, intentionally or not, congratulations:
Apparently, a virtual army of scammers is using phone numbers registered with
VOIP, masking their identities via exploitation of bandwidth.com’s technology (or
is helping facilitate that?). There are plenty of complaints on your Facebook page, including from the dentist’s office whose phone was hijacked thanks to
facilitating anonymous telemarketing/​phone scamming:

I started doing some research tonight… and why did I? We’ve been getting calls on our land line several times daily for several weeks now. They show up on caller ID as «out of area» (except that they’re calling from our area code). I never answer as I don’t recognize the number and anyone masking their identity isn’t getting the time of day from me, but my husband insists on answering the phone when they call. Whenever he answers, there is no response, just background noise. My husband called the numbers back last night and received messages indicating that the numbers are «not in service.»
So tonight I looked up two of them. One of the numbers is listed as «unknown in Colorado» even though the caller is calling from my area code. The second one is listed as belonging to

I filed a complaint with the FCC this evening:
I’ve suggested to anyone registering complaints at the various consumer complaint sites receiving such calls to look up the numbers online thru Reverse Lookup White Pages and then report them to the FCC if being harassed with repeated calls that result in the caller simply hanging up/​not responding.
Otherwise, I am advising that consumers file a complaint with the FBI if the caller is making suspicious threats of legal action. Local law enforcement may also be contacted. And as this friendly dentist just showed us, contacting the local media is a good way to get the word out in addition to filing a complaint. You may even make the national media soon.
BTW: One person told the caller that they’re on the Do Not Call List (as others have done), claimed the caller said that «the DNC list is a government joke and our government is no more» — any guesses as to which anti-​government US political faction is behind it? The so-​called «fee market» at work:

For months now, I have been pounded by calls that when doing a reverse look up of the numbers, shows they belong to
. I have received calls from at least half a dozen if not more numbers with this ID. I rarely answer a call out of my area codes. Some of the numbers are:

If this is not your company or the phone numbers, please look into it. For now, since the registry states
owns these numbers… well…I have to assume it is this company. I am using the provided link to inform as well.

These scam artists are telemarketers. They will call you from this number: 502−208−8482
I received a call from this # from my cell phone@ 8:37am on 2÷12÷13. I called the # from a land line phone and the call indicated that it was for a consumer credit reporting industry opt in and opt out # and if i wanted to remove my name for 5 years to press 1. If I wanted to remain to press 2. To permanently remove my name from this program to press 3. Lastly to hear details about this program press 4. So I pressed 2 and they asked for my social security #. I then hung up. These scumbags are pure scammers. They are phishing for social security numbers. They will use those numbers and fill out credit card forms and then run up your credit card charges. They are likely Africans or Middle Easterners operating a classic Nigerian 419 scam.

Bandwidth is a wholesale provider and have deactivated the telemarketer’s number.
Hopefully this mitigates the problem. I commend the people at Bandwidth for following up with this issue. In the interest of public safety, this is good news.
