The state of California, Department of Motor Vehicles requires all vehicles older then 7 years to have a smog inspection performed.

Smog N Run performs all the required inspections put forth by the Department Of Motor Vehicles. Included in the inspection is a visual, functional and emission check. We are equipped with top-​of-​the– line smog equipment including a dynamometer and the new BAR~OIS System. Our tools are calibrated every 3 days to assure accurate test results.

A smog test measures a vehicle’s emissions levels and ensures that the vehicle is burning fuel efficiently, and these inspections really pay off: According to the California Air Resources Board, smog testing helps remove over 360 tons of air pollutants each day in California alone.

Smog checks have the potential to make a big impact on the environment and human health. Helping to make the Earth a greener sustainable place.

Oscar was great. He got me in quickly when I found out I needed to get smog check. I am selling my car and the Los Gatos DMV informed me that required a new smog check. I looked online and found Smog N Run. Fast, courteous and a good price. Go here for your smog checks. Only 1 block from DMV!!!

Took my car in to get smoked and this guy failed it because one of the crankcase breathers was plugged (as it was from the factory). Completely legitimate setup and it was failed. Took it to a referee and said that it was fine. $ 80 waste of time here. Maybe you have to fail a certain number of cars a year to maintain your gold shield status?

Well! This Place is Perfectly Located. I moved from Texas and had to take care of quite a bit of Paperwork. Didn’t know amount the SMOG report in California. I saw the video at the LAS Gatos DMV pointing to Smog N Run right next door to the DMV to get a SMOG Certificate. I gave the car to them and all it took me was a good coffee and a Donut just across the street and i was all set. This place is the best. The LADY at the reception is Amazing. She suggested the Coffee Place, and quite a few options to me while they work on my car. I was already starving with all the Yawn Inducing Paper Work and this was a refreshing break from all of it.

I would rate Smog N Run at 3.5 stars. Now a smog check is really a commodity, it is the same products at all providers. So as the product is all the same it comes down to service and convenience to rate providers.
I just had two cars done here, and was happy with the results. The service was fast and kid behind the counter was courteous and friendly. The lobby resembles the waiting room at a Jersey City bail bondsman (don’t ask). But it did have a chair, TV and water, and I spent about 15 minutes there, so do I really care? I am not expecting much from a smog check. It is very close to my home, so it was very ease to drop by as I was doing other chores.

Went here in 2012 and the service was quick but not friendly and didn’t offer anything additional that would make me want to visit and support it again, which was too bad since it’s so close by. Since I was up for another smog test, I looked at Unilocal and found Los Gatos Smog, which I loved (just got back from my 30 min smog check and oil change — a business worth supporting, great svc and they went above and beyond)!

I have gone to Smog N Run twice for my Mercedes and each time I was greeted warmly. In my recent visit, since I had not called ahead to make an appointment, I had to wait, there were two cars ahead of me. So I decided to go shopping at the neighborhood stores which was very convenient for me to walk the short distant.
I gave them my cell # to call when the car was ready. My only disappointment was the job was taken care of quickly and not enough time for me to shop!
The place is clean, the staff honest and friendly, and the service is quick. I have already recommended Smog n Run to my friends who live in the area, I know like me, they have a high expectation of the services they get.
Good job Aaron and the staff and keep our City, community clean with your wonderful smug job. Wish you a successful business.

Trying to find a place to get your car a smog check last minute is frankly a huge pain. Add not being familiar with the area and you are in a real pickle. Drove by as well as called a few places and just got yuck vibes and various costs. So then my Unilocal research came into play.
Called Smog N Run and I was greeted by a pleasant and articulate technician. No appointments needed. I drove right over during lunch. Lucky for me, there was no one ahead of me and I was able to be taken care of right away. 20 minutes later he was done. DMV is across the street. Safeway and various eateries are down the street.
One star off for being so expensive. Even with a $ 20 coupon it was $ 65. I haven’t gotten a smog check on a car in a very long time but I’m fairly certain I didn’t pay that much. That said, I’d probably still return since the experience was so quick and painless.

Went for a smog test on 2006 SUV — the listed price at the counter said something like $ 75 but the dude at the counter said its $ 85 and after $ 20 coupon, it’s $ 65. Went to another one and got it at $ 49, duh.

My 3rd trip to Smog-​N-​Run and as the previous experiences, they were very professional. Took in a 2000 Mustang with 236,000 miles on it. It passed but they pointed out one measurement that was borderline and gave some excellent advice on what to do in order to bring the number down and reduce the pollution my car was emitting.
This is the first shop I have been to where they were concerned about the environment and made suggestions on how I could reduce my emissions.

This place is great because it is right next to the DMV, so you don’t have to go far if you need a smog. Not to mention both times I’ve been here there was no wait at all, so I was in-​and-​out in around 15 minutes. Nice guys that worked there too. one guy even let me know that one of my cars needs to be checked by a star-​certified place and he didn’t charge me for all the work he did. He told me they would be star-​certified by the end of April (he is now star-​certified), so I’m definitely bringing the car back here.

Diesel truck owner’s bring your rig here, especially if you have the after market performance product added!
I saw several different shops and all of them advised me a bunch of BS!!!
There is a book out from the state advising smog shops of CA approved bolt-​on after market products. The other shops I went to told/​advised me to remove this and that… a load of BS!
This guy asked me what I had, I told and showed him, he reveiwed everything in the CA guide book. All good!
But if you have big injectors. you’ll have issues!
