I went here for the first time this past Sunday for their Reading Service. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was hoping for some inspirational talks and some light meditation.
I heard a lot of references to Christianity which turned me off. There was a lot of talk about the Hindu idea of salvation — the release from the reincarnation cycle after one becomes self-​realized. I guess I was hoping for more practical inspiration for everyday life, and less Religion.
At the end of the 1-​hour service, they passed around a donation collection. It seemed like a good place to be for the people who go there regularly and are into it — it’s just not for me.

This has been my «church» since I have been living up in the Bay… about 6+ years now. I guess you could say that this is where I get my «Spiritual» On.
It is a small branch of Self Realization Fellowship founded by the Indian Saint, Paramahansa Yogananda.
*If you are looking into Meditation as a spiritual practice, this is a great spiritual path.
*Nice cultural mixture within the congregation, respects all religions though the spiritual teachings focus on parallels between Hinduism and Christianity.
