Performance Physical Therapy

This is my first time doing any kind of PT. Tim the therapist explains everything well. I went one day when Tim was out and saw Cathy (?) who was also great. The trainers have also been nice. Unlike the other reviews I have read, I have had no issues with having to wait or being ignored. Seemed like all the other customers were being well attended to also.
Somehow they got my wife’s cell number in their reminder system, when I’m pretty sure I wrote that into the emergency contact form section. so I suspect there could be admin issues. Got me in a bit of trouble with the wife.

I was reluctant to try this place again because when they were at their other location, I waited for over an hour before asking for my copay back and leaving. Hoping that things might have changed, I tried again. Although the receptionists were efficient and friendly, and the therapists were timely and helpful, there were two different days when I waited for over 45 min. for, I believe his name is Tim. As a full time working parent, I jam a lot into one day. I do not have time to sit for 45 min. on a weekday for no good reason. There weren’t any emergencies. There were no apologies. In fact, I overheard a couple staff members joking about his lateness with clients. I don’t have time for that. I stopped work early to be there on time only to sit and wait. It was very frustrating. I’m now going to be driving round trip 30 min.+ so as to go to a different office and hope for better service.

Met a new physical therapist — Cathy — and she seems great. Things in general seem to be improving — including things on the back end with paperwork. Will give them the benefit of the doubt, and focus on getting better with Cathy’s help.

Don’t waste your time with this place. They are more interested in your money than your well being. They give you a few exercises and then ice with electrical stimulation
for 20 minutes. Basically your on your on after you check in and pay for the visit.

I like other commentators, was also left in the room with what was supposed to be ice and electro-​massage (not sure of the terminology). Electro pads were adhered to my body and ice was applied but the electro was not turned on yet. I was almost ready except Dr. T went to get me a cushion for my legs and and didn’t come back until I rang the bell 20 minutes later. He said he got sidetracked and apologized. So I ended up finally getting about 10 minutes of the electro and when all was said and done about 30 minutes of ice (too much). My appointment was for 2:40pm. I arrived at 2:15 to fill out all the paperwork. I wasn’t called in until 3:20 in which I waited another 20 minutes for the doc. Just an overall bad first impression for me. I probably got a mere 40 minutes of attention for a nearly 2.25 hour visit. I received ultrasound and stretching exercises as well from another therapist and albeit friendly, it was rushed and she too was spread out too thin.
Based on the four star rating of this place on Unilocal,maybe today was an exception to the norm but I already went to find another place and cancelled my appointments for next week. This was definitely one of those times when Unilocal steered me wrong.

Unfortunately after three visits I was actually worse off than before. My knee replacement was treated as if pain was the missing ingredient in my life. I actually screamed with pain with their evaluation of my progress on the last visit. I never screamed once in two natural childbirths. Ridiculous.
They seem disorganized and not lead well. I was started with one therapist, then left alone to do the exercises, then someone else would appear, give me instructions and walk away. Then another person would appear and leave me with orders. Then finally the evaluation that swelled up my knee to twice what it had been. Be cautious. be very cautious.
The staff was generally cheerful, and friendly, on the good side.

I highly recommend this place — all the therapists are very helpful and friendly, answer readily any questions you might have, and are very attentive. It’s my first time to have a physical therapy session and honestly, I should of started earlier — I always assumed that it’s more like visiting a doctor, which I much dislike. Instead, It’s been a pleasant way to check in with people who know what they’re doing while getting better.

I’m baffled by the other review from a couple days ago. Sounds like a misunderstanding about the frequency of appointments… I’m working with the other (women) therapists and they are good, not any more rushed than most PTs are, and I am getting the two sessions a week that were prescribed by my doctor. I am NOT a post-​surgical patient. IN fact I have two different modalities they are treating (two separate prescriptions) so I’ve been going in 4 days a week, for four different sessions, 2 per modality per week. This place is no more rushed or crowded than the other two physical therapy places I have been to in the past decade.
